Why less graduates pursue blue collar jobs?

Nothing bad in it, but some of graduate do not want to start from zero, they want realdy made work instead to start their own business and become own boss. That is what makes many graduate stay longer at home before they get Job.
A white collar job is less Stressful and does not involve much manual labour as the blue collar job, that is why most graduate white collar jobs, I mean who wouldn't? But I will do a blue collar job while waiting for a white collar job.

Understanding the subject matter is very important. Many graduates are so disappointed in themselves to till point of not even willing to do something with their hands.
And many a times the payment is too low compared to their level of education

Blue-collar jobs provide people with better job and financial security compared to white-collar work. Technical jobs abound which put more and more people in front of a computer monitor only to find out that most of these technical jobs are being outsourced overseas.

Less graduates pursue blue collar job because they have prepared their mind never to rest on their certificate which may make people look down on them. With this fact behind their minds, they find better alternative but the brilliant graduates fail to seek other options beside their certificate.

I don't actually blame some graduates running after the white collar jobs because they find it easy and a sure way to get their monthly pay. Most people feel that having gone through the rigorous learning process in the school, they can not subject themselves to further hazzel by starting to look for blue collar job that may actually not be possible. It takes a determined person to finish from school and refuse to seek for white collar job.

Many people place so much importance and value on being a graduate, being a graduate does not make you better than other, you just happen to have a specialised knowledge, if a job is legal and lucrative, I don't see why a graduate shouldn't take it.

the pursue of white collar jobs has decreased unlike before when most graduates want to get themselves involve in white collar jobs and this is because there was fat salary and attractive plans attached to the white collar job but now the salary most times is only able to cater for the transport fare

Most graduates feels so highly of themselves they think that because they are graduates, the world should revolve around them. This is not how the school of life works, Life works by what you are able to do not by what you feel you should be entitled to.

Those graduates that feels like they are too big to work some blue collar jobs will mostly be forced by circumstances to do such work for a very long time, this is how it normally plays out. In our society today, there are no enough white collar jobs so the blue collar jobs should be done by all and sundry that were not fortunate enough to get the white collar job as these jobs are not permanent jobs.

Now many graduates are now wiser to start pursuing white collar job because they get peanut from it at the end of the day, if only they are not discarded like nobody.
Many graduates are proposing to found their own business so as to be employers of labour

There is a blue-collar labor shortage in the United States, and it is not because of manufacturing returning from China and elsewhere, research analysts believe.

According to the Conference Board, retiring Baby Boomers and lower-income workers leaving the workforce on disability claims (including drug addiction) has largely led to the weak numbers in blue-collar job applicants. Moreover, more high school seniors are going on to four-year liberal arts degrees and getting highly skilled jobs or starting careers in professional services or in public services, like school teachers.
