Over staffing

Yeah it's a common problem in this country, probably a universal problem, they overlook the qualified skills for the particular jobs and choose to put in family with no qualification, all in the name of family comes first.

Over staffing is a big problem in many companies. Over staffing means having more staff than the company actually requires. Does anyone realize, some people create a vacancy in the company just to accommodate their relatives into the company? This kind of act creates over staffing.
Well overstaffing it's a big challenge for every business that are going through it simply because each startup the organisation or business of much-needed funds to execute order project for the business.
 
Yeah! Here in my country, we have 'ghost workers' in the public sector and in recent times, the numbers have greatly increased just as corruption keeps eating deep into the system.
This starts from the politicians themselves, it is unfortunate that it exists and all over the world, they usually put relatives, friends, relatives, etc. on the payroll. This leads to the lack of budget to improve the salaries of those who really work.
 
The issue of overstaffing is a very big problem in Nigeria most especially in Government establishments. Overstaffing can't happen in a private establishment because it'll affect their profits.
 
I think it all depends on how transparent the system is. For an organization with a good management system , there isottle or no possibility of overstaffing
 
Only a business with poor management would have more than enough staff which is called over staffing, the function of the management includes making sure the efficient hands are on deck for the task at hand

True and most business suffer from poor management these days. They hire too many staff then they can take care of. They would end up dropping them along the way.

And leave the poor employees stranded due to negligence on their part which is really bad seeing the harsh conditions this negligence might cause to the poor circumstances of victims

When it comes to nepotism you cannot control that because I believe it is the privilege of the business owner or the manager who is fully trusted by the owner. We have to live with it even if we see that the relative of the owner is not doing a good performance on the job.

This is why every organization needs a human resources and financial manager to determine the best number of people for a job and how much would be sufficient for them.
You are correct. The organization needs human resource department and manager so that the people needed in the business is just enough. There will be no over staffs if the human resource management will say that they will only hire one or two person.

A business has to be meticulously planned before started and reviewed and the progress reviewed at every junction. If not over staffing becomes one of the monsters the business will contend with.

A local, government owned football academy in my area needed just two people to monitor their balls, instead they hired four and are paying all of them way above the minimum wage. The other two people were slotted in by gullible family members who needed to place their people into government payroll. Eventually the team collapsed as the allocation couldn't pay the salary. They had 23 officials of which only 15 were active. The remaining eight only collects the salary without going to work.
 
Over staffing is a bad thing in any business or investment for that matter as it will tend to bring about an unnecessary increase in the overhead cost in running that outfit. Nobody would like that for any reason

Talking about over staffing, it happens majorly in the federal level in my country, where everyone in position can bring is family or friends either qualify or not, but in private sectors I don't thing there is over staffing because they are well organise

Overstaffing in an organisation it's not right I'll because it makes the organisation not to make a lot of profit and be able to marginalize their profits on better things.
 
I believe those who continue to overstaff do so most likely because they are never affected, they probably have the funds to take care of all staff comfortably else they will have to relieve the unneeded staff.
