MOTIVATING A SKILLED EMPLOYEE

I believe that motivating all employees is important, not just a skillful employee because all the employees are part of the team and they all have the job to provide good customer service and satisfy the customer.

Motivating a talented worker is critical for a business since it allows them to perform more and boost their output. Motivation is the fuel that keeps employees going and working efficiently.
 
Sure a well renumeration is a very big factor to make an employee to stay put in an organisation, but what of the issue of job satisfacton and how the employees sees his prospect in that job he is currently doing.
I think that where most people consider job satisfaction is not in Nigeria and it's why you would see some of people who are complaining their job is too stressful but they can't quit as a result of their pay.
 
There are different ways to motivate your skilled employee. First of all you give compliments and acknowledge their works or skills. You could also gift them or enforce special benefits, these helps in motivating workers.

Personally, as your work I don't really need your compliment as a motivator for me to work harder for you but if you need my full attention on your job always increase my salary.

Yes I believe that those words will actually make them staff or employee to feel happy but believe me you that it is the money that will make him to be more motivated to work more.

I agree that money will make an employee more motivated to work more but we can't just ignore the little wonders complimenting them does also.

By empowering the individual. Every employee should feel that they are valued as an individual. No one likes being a faceless pawn in a big game. Thus, you need to make sure that your entire workforce is given the opportunity to express themselves. You need to encourage your employees to showcase aspirational personal goals. When employees anticipate a future reward, it makes the work routine easier for them.

Though I agree with you that this is actually one of the best way to encourage a skilled worker, this would also encourage others as well to work harder, would you also increase all their salaries?
 
One has to make it as a point of duty to motivate his or her employees in all the ways necessary,they are workers and they need some care too and some push

This was one of the strategy we used when we started our outfit,and it really worked,we make sure that our employee is working in a very good condition,and we make sure he has at least a day off in a week.
 
Motivating a skilled worker should be one of the preference on a Manager's list. You can give him leave, during the holidays you could sponsor his vacation for 2weeks and you could augment his salary.
Most skilled employees would need an increase in their pay. If not, they may quit the job. To get a skilled employee to stay, ensure that the atmosphere to display his talent and ability is given.
