In my country Nigeria to be precise, farming is a business mostly run by individual entity and some corporate outfit which also includes the government sometime. However, to make good fortunes from farming here, you need to be a mechanized farmer.

Absolutely, farming is a business everywhere. Farming is the next oil in my own opinion and i think people should start looking in that direction.
There are several options one can look at like crop farming, fishery, snailnery, animal farming

In fact, one can also look at other agribusinesses that tends to focus on improving the agricultural value chain.

There is also the technology aspect of agriculture which is yet to be really tapped into.
