Between existing customers and new customers which one someone needs to give special treatment?

both of them need to be given attention In other not to take their attention away from you, but more attention should be given to the new new in other to attract him more with your attention or services.

In my own view, both of them are so very important in business setting and even for business growth. As for you which one will you prefer to treat specially?
All customers should be treated equally if you want your business to keep growing in life, because you don't know who is who but everyone comedy to your store to get one or two things. If a customer notice you treat some customers with a special treatment you will automatically loose the customer not just the customer but like 10 other new customers you don't know, because the customer you lost will go out their and spread a bad news about you..
 
In this case, you need to pay attention to the old customers first because those are the one that has been with you for years, without them there is no you. So any new customer must be treated the same way

I value my new customers very well as they are ready to also become existing ones if I treat them very well but all the same, my existing customers still maintain more priority from me. Why? They already understand me, no too much arguments and all that.

Personally, both customers are good to be kept for long term business relationships because it's what works better for the company on the long run. If you have a business, it's better that you work for long term benefits than short term if you want your business to succeed.

the kind of business I am doing is one which requires trust, so my existing customers are very important to me because of the trust that has already been built between me and them. However, I always give importance to my new customers as well for choosing me but I can't do that at the expense of my existing trusted customers.
 
Well, I understand that there are customers that have been patronizing longer, ordinarily, there shouldn't be any special treatment for any customer. You don't see Facebook giving special treatment to a user because he/she has been using it for a long time.
 
An existing customers have already being patronizing you since the inception and you need to keep them happy in other keep coming and also you will need to create more new customers in other to have more sales.
 
There shouldn't be any more special treatment to the new or the old. You can create a loyalty program that will be of huge reward or support to the old or existing customers. Don't forget that the existing customers kept your business going before the new customers came in.

According to my own understanding, I think all customers regardless of their status, should be treated equally. Old customers should be treated like you don't want to loose them for any reason while new customers should be treated with a kind of welcome treatment
 
Both of them deserve special treatment because you need both of them to keep the business running. But if I am to choose, I will choose existing customers over the new one. The reason is that they are going with me right from the onset and they are paying more into my business than the present new ones.

Hmmm in my business there is no segregation I treat all my my customers the same way. The existing customer has the ability to bring new customers via referrals.

You don't have to be selective, treat both the old and the new employees as one. Don't prefer the other and treat the old ones like they are nothing. That brings division and wild thoughts in the company, and such company never grows behaving that way.
 
You need existing customers as they not only bring regular income but also promote your business through word of mouth. You also need new customers as you can grow only when you have new customers.
 
Both parties need special treatment because all existing customers were once new customers, by this you are able to achieve consistency and a large customer base. treat them well by providing great customer services and they will definitely refer others.

You're correct, both needs special treatment. No one should be superior to the other. If we sideline our old customers and stop treating them right because new customers are flooding our business, we'll regret it. Because the old members will leave and the new ones will grow old, and we have same attitude for them. That will diminish our business growth at some point, the customers will become scanty.

In my own view both of them need special treatment and attention as you're treating the existing customers very well you should also be treating the newly customers very well,if you did pay attention to existing customers because of newly one remember that the newly ones has been buying from somewhere before coming to you,so you can say they won't leave at any time.
 
An existing customers are loyal customers that will always come back because of there loyalty to u while new customers are customer are coming for the first time to sample ur product. Our behavior towards the new customer will help to keep them and also make them existing customers too.

You're right @Suba. Both new and old should be treated as kings. And no one should be held higher than the other. That brings divided mind within the customers when they notice such saga going around on the owner's business. And it might lead to massive decline of customers in demand of the person's products.
