Honestly.. I rode motorcycles for years in the Texas summers and winters.. and they were not equipped with air conditioning (or heat)... and when i worked patrol, I NEVER used the air conditioner in the car in the summer, even with all the equipment i was having to carry/wear. My position was if I was chasing some tick-turd... I wasn't going to have AC blowing on me then.... and with the windows of the patrol unit rolled up.. I couldn't hear ambient noises.

Even 20 years later, it still is a "position" I take.. and I constantly have the spouse bitching at me because it is 100° outside, and I'm riding with the windows rolled down.. she wants that AC on high/recirculate.

The sad thing is.. MUCH of current society is in that very position.. they can't deal with the heat.

Yep. I’m a sucker for heat too. When I’m working, I’ll have a mobile air conditioning blowing next to me when it’s 30 degrees Celsius lol.

Being retired... every day that I'm above a -6 foot elevation to the ground I'm happy.
Today... got to mow the yard (an acre lot with a push mower).. and we are STILL in "unhealthy heat" pattern.. but naw, global warming isn't a thing.
Yesterday, the central air ONLY turned off at around 2am when I raised the thermostat to 79°... but it came back on about 20 minutes later because the outside temp was still sitting at 86° according to the outdoor sensor.
This honestly is one of the hotter years that I can remember in my 50+ years of paying attention.

Thankfully not for us in Chi-town, because we had rain all this week despite the severe weather. Me, on the other hand, my week was hellacious. I left several forums because of its toxic, hostile environment and the constant bullying that's being tolerated & allowed.

That's one of the reasons I'm over here and no longer at TAZ... they developed a tendency to let major script developers start getting away with crap that I didn't agree with... and after over a decade and around 7000+ posts... I kicked them to the curb... and I've been a LOT happier since then.
Similar to over at Bash... if you don't eat a certain politicians corn/peanuts.. you are on the "outs". Never mind the fact that you apparently need a golden effigy of that politician mounted in a place of prominence above your toilet that you regularly bow to (hi Sheldon, SneakyDave, Cloaked and all those other integrated/inbred accounts).

I wanted to go work on changing my last name today... but I knew I would have to get there early, I just felt like sleeping in an extra hour or two though so I'm not going to work on that today. So I'm at home today! I plan on watching a bit of youtube and watch the most recent episodes of Outlander.
