Should Staff Work More Than They Are Paid?

The job description of every staff Is spelled out the moment he gets a job in any company. This is usually directly proportional to the pay he receives and his certifications. However, is it appropriate for any staff in any business or company to be working more than he gets paid. Can he volunteer to do more that what was designed for him to do?
That depends on such staff's personality. He or she shouldn't be forced, they can do more for their organization if they are willing. However, a company should also appreciate a staff that works more to achieve success

No staff shouldn't work more than they are paid, that is pure wickedness, some companies do pay for overtime though, but such companies are rare. Workers should be paid for the hours they work for.

I don't see the need for an employee to work more than they are paid except he or she decided to put an extra work within our own capacity and not by Force or except you are going to increase except you are going to pay them extra money to cover the amount of time they were extra

Great people don't work for garbage wages. They're smart and they know ... If you pay employees generously then you can expect more from them and hold them to a higher standard. They will also expect more ...

There is an agreement and a job description, whenever a company intends to employ a worker. If a staff willing agrees to work overtime, it's fine, but compelling a staff to work overtime, without being paid for it is not proper in anyway

This is what has been happening in our society. When you measure the work employees does it can never be compared with what they receive from their employers. Staff should not work for free because they have a lot of responsibility to Carter for as well.

The fair thing is to work for a salary commensurate with the functions performed by the employee. However, if the employee has the opportunity to improve and wants to do more work than necessary, to learn and develop he can do so, since it is about acquiring knowledge and practices, which can benefit him in the future for a promotion.

For a worker to work more than what he/she is being paid, that is based on two things according to me, first is if that worker is very good at his job and he/she is been asked to work for extra time or over time, that means the relationship between him or her duty to that work.

According to my own understanding, workers shouldn't work more than what they're paid for. There should be balance in the way in which all employees are treated, all workers should be paid according to their works.

Yes it’s good. When you are working with a company that suit your passion and your area of interest, you will naturally work more than what you have been paid for. You can’t get bored of what you have passion for and have fun with. I think it’s called Job satisfaction

Yes he can do that provided there is incentive in it, and I think your talking about working extra hour. But a worker can volunteer to do a particular job in as much that will he is doing it to reduce the work load ahead I think is good.

Staff should work according to how they are paid, any other extra work should be regarded as overtime and should be paid differently for that, it will make the staff happy and don't look as if he is over used.

This decision ought to be in the hands of the staff but we have found several cases in some countries where staff are coerced into doing more work than they're paid..in economics this action is referred to as over employment.. simply it's overwork for the staff member and this is bad.

Where will you see an employee that won't want to use you more than what he or she paid you as salary, they want you to work till you die under them..

So it is only God that is helping we that we work in an organization it is not been easy tho,at time we will work forgetting that we have not eaten breakfast... May God reward us on time tho...

In my country, most staff work more than as it was bargain for, one person will be doing the job of three people, this happens in most sectors including the banking sector, that's actually wrong, in my opinion they should work as just expected.

It is not ideal for employees to work more than their wages. But you will persuade them if you are really nice, and you can spend extra time without paid extra money. Staff can be inspired by presenting them with an opportunity that will draw them to do even more work. Jobs should be empowered to improve their employers' efficiency.

It does apply at all, with certain employees it might be like it if the task is so hard that the staff get sick with the stress/distraction. So if the worker loves the work that they do, you can't even claim that they dislike it because they did so for fun. They perform well because they feel better by doing so.

This should not be considered as the norm otherwise it can be termed slavery, but if a staff is properly motivated, they can go all out to work for their employer, they can go the extra mile to get things done for the company or business organisations they work for.

staffs are not meant to work more than they are paid because some companies or firms just want to exhaust the opportunity they have access to by making their workers work overnight without paying extra money or compensation which is not meant to be because they feels they are the employer

Yes because it helps the employee in getting familiar with the work process and how it can be done quickly, and also recommendations could be made towards such employees by other work colleagues or the employer which in turn opens doors for more opportunities.
