The word healthy there is key to the kind of competition we are addressing. Well, creating healthy competition among staffs could be achieved by giving extra funds or commission to anyone who completes the task as ordered. The price tag thing is what can catch them to be healthily competitive.
I’m glad you understand the drift. The word health there means motivation or how to compensate for well done job. Though there are some negativity such as jealousy that may follow with this move but its purpose still remain the same and it’s to increase productivity

I once read a book authored by Dale carnegie titled— ‘How to win friends and influence people’. In that book he made mentioned that a student of his narrated to the class on how he boosted production at his workplace. The student said he noticed a decline in the production and he was losing money. Instead of him to reprimand his workers, he didn’t do that. He ordered a chalkboard and placed it where all his workers can see it on a daily basis. At the end of each working session, he writes the numbers of production on the chalkboard. He rubs off the previous Number and write the present one. He said he noticed a massive increase the production rate and his business started booming.
Notice he didn’t condemn his workers for the decline instead he created a healthy competition without sacking or spending much.

My question now is; How do you create a healthy competition in your work place?
I think we can create a healthy competition among our employees by setting targets to achieve for employees. Then their should be a reward or bonus after completion of the task. It would create a healthy and competent environment in which Everyone will try to do his best.

Nice strategy but nowadays people are motivated by incentive. If the working conditions are favorable and the hours are not too much couple with either monetary or gift incentives. People will give out their best.

competitiveness can also hinder your culture if it becomes toxic—think undermining, backstabbing, and a “me first” mentality. So, what are some things you can do to ensure your team operates in a competitive—but still healthy—environment? This way, instead of solely competing with one another when it comes to the sales numbers on the board, people understand what everyone else is working toward.

You should try to engage them in competition, and set a prize for the winer for a or more, depending on how much them have work. You can also give them challenge which will make take the more serious,

In our school era, students were also competing with students and those who worked hard and hard to win the competition were given MEDALS and gifts, as well as office centers should also compete with workers and give gifts and prizes to the workers, they will be encouraged and they will work with more hard work and dedication. And competition shows man's abilities...

creating healthy competition among employees is encouraged as long as it is a healthy competition this will make each and everyone of them to always want to turn out as the best and work reasonably for the progress of the business

Compete in Teams
Competition among individuals has the most potential to go wrong. It can lead to a dog-eat-dog environment where everyone is out for number one. In general, team competitions are healthier, and also encourage collaboration, which is vital in today’s workplace. Try to balance the teams as much as possible by choosing team members with different strengths. Not only will this create more effective teams, it will also give the members opportunities to learn from each other while competing.

Competition in the working place isn't healthy for the safety of the organization. It creates enmity among members of staff. Take for instance marketers, they engage in competition among themselves but at the end it kills the morale of the person at the disadvantage. I would rather promote an enable environment with job satisfaction.

An employee might be in the office physically, but his/her mind may be reminiscing about a wonderful time they had over the weekend with family and friends. So, there is nothing like a good inspirational message that you send to your employees first thing on a monday morning to elevate their mood and amke then happy about being at work. Choose a mesage that reinforces the vision of the organization and let each employee know how each one's contribution helps take the company closer to it goals.

To some extent you’re right and I agree with you. Competition creates jealousy and enemity on a normal day but the basis of this thread is finding out how you can create a ‘health competition’ that wouldn’t cause rift or ruckus in your company

Creating healthy competition for your employees could leave a very big impact in your business both positively and negatively, though for me the positive outweighs the negative aspect, because it could drive in sales to your business which is paramount for the survival of your business.

Creating healthy environment and competition among employees is highly necessary for company or business outfit to achieve set goals. When employees are not in harmony, output rate will definitely drop the company will suffer for it. Every employer need to look into this because it's crucial.

You can engage them in weekly competition like giving them trophies and gift depending on how well they work for that week. You can give them a challenge which will make them work more efficiently especially the one that will keep them commited to their jobs
Competition between employees is an inescapable part of most people’s work lives. Whether overtly or otherwise, most companies create a dynamic in which employees compete against each other for recognition, bonuses, and promotions. After a close look at workplace policies across corporations, banks, law firms, and tech companies, the New York Times called grueling competition the defining feature of the upper-echelon workplace.

If you have a business that involves making of sales and customers conversion, you can set a target for all your employees, give them deadline to meet the target. Once any one of them meets the target, give such staff the reward promised. It will make others to work hard and compete to meet their own target.

Such healthy competition can be created by organizing a weekly meeting and at the end of each meeting the workers can be called out and prize should be given to them. In a cool and nice way. Doing that others will also work harder to get their prize.

We always have this kind of meetings at my former work place and it really help us to work as a team on daily basis. We discuss plans on how to create better workplace and working conditions in order to help us get out the best from each and everyone of us.

Wow that’s very good. Please can you share highlights for us on how effective it was. Did it raise the productivity of company? At any point, was there rift among the employees? If yes, how do you resolve it?

It is very important for the business side to engage them in competition, set a prize for the winner of the day or week, depending on how much the have work and creating a strategy of incentive for them you can give them a challenge which will make them take the work so serious and with hardworking.

Make a plan and target that the employees can reach. You have to create a good atmosphere of working condition.
When your workers are taken care of physically, mentally and socially they tend to put in their best.
