What is the difference between management and leadership?

A very good leader is a very good manager of both people and resources. But not all good managers are good leaders. Therefore, with leadership, people gets to follow your lead because they believe in you.
Having a very good leader in your company or business organisation is very important because when it comes to the management of the resources that your business operates which he would definitely do an excellent job.

The different between leadership and management is not something too beyond differenciate because in some organization manager is also take alot of responsibilities that laid and which are also necessary to handle.
Management is actually the structure that is set up for those that are in the leadership position to make use of and run the day-to-day activities of the company's business.
 
Leadership can be present in any field because you can be a leader of a band or a leader of a military unit. But for business, you need management although you also need leadership in another capacity. There are good managers who are not really good leaders as per my experience. Leadership is truly a role model but the bottom line is that they could also assume the post of a manager. Someone without a Leadership skills would never be given a managerial assignment.

I think one of the basic difference between management and leadership is the fact that the manager can only give directions and commands to his or her employee; however, a leader has the ability to assess the situation in a correct manner and lead his employees. A manager usually caters the needs of cutomers whereas the leader guides and instructs the employees in a proper way.
 
Management is the act of controlling and utilizing what you have to aiming at a particular goal or goals, leadership is also the act of controlling some thing, a leader must be a good manager because if you don't manage your company well you have failed as a leader.

The fundamental part of business management can be learnt from the school. But it is very important to have real-world experience on how to apply things learnt in the school. Application of the business management is very important in the corporate world.
