What is difference between network marketing and affiliate marketing?

I see ads related to network marketing and affiliate marketing on social media . I also tried some affiliate programs but one thing is creating confusion. I am unable to understand network marketing .So can anyone tell me what is difference between network marketing and affiliate marketing?

Although! People have already anwered your question. But just want to put it in a simple terms. But have u come accross a situation whereby ur friend or relative asked u to join a business, after u join u at asked to look for another 2 or 3 people to join (depending on the pyramid required). But affiliate markerting is to sell others product on your blog etc and receive commission

Affiliate marketing means you refer buyers to a business and if the buyers you referred buy products you earn commission. In network marketing you recruit a member for a company and the member you recruited happens under you. Now, you sell products to this person and ask him to network new members. The members he recruited brings more members and in this way products are sold and new members are recruited.

Netwrok marketing is quite different from Affiliate marketing though both are online business. Networking marketing runs multi level marketing system.

That is, the business function based on downlines. There are network marketing that require you to bring two or three downlines in order to level up.

Affiliate marketing in the other hand, does not run on referral. You simply set up a website in a niche fill it up with product reviews and drive traffic to the sites and make commision on every sales simple.

Exactly in network marketing, you have not started working if you are not bringing in referral, that is why the name network comes in, you bring people under you,and those people also need to bring more people under them and affiliate marketing is just marketing and selling someone's product and you get your commission

I think I would always choose affiliate marketing over network marketing. If you must succeed in network marketing in Nigeria, you need to develop enough capacity to manage frustrations because you will get lots of frustration. In the simplest and clearest form.o think I can put this. Network marketing is a kind of marketing where you in the course of selling a product that mostly isn't yours or yours, you must have to referral people to also referral people and on and on it goes like that. Affiliate marketing don't have to do with that but selling a product via your affiliate link to make profit.
