Hey all, hows it going? Hope you're having a great day!
I'm having an alright day, it's been a bit of a roller coaster of emotions the last few days - but I'm content in my doing nothingness today. How is your day going?

Hey @Nebulous ! Had a good day. Now I am just going to hang out and relax.
Yay for hanging out and relaxing! I think we all definitely need that.

What service are they on for you? Could always pay and watch all the episodes and then cancel the service?
It's like the Belgian Netflix but apparently it sucks. They have a good deal with HBO and that's the only reason why I'd get it but you have to pay for a year immediately which is terrible. They offer maybe 2 weeks free trial but it's not enough to watch everything I would want to watch of HBO. (we do not get HBO max)

Edit: you can pay for it monthly but I think that's new. Service is called "streamz"

some interesting stuff, though apparently with the human eye it wasn't as colorful (or maybe it was the lenses?
the human eye (even through a telescope) can't compete with that the camera can do... it's just simple biology.
That's why a LOT of people quickly get disappointed when they get a telescope and don't see what those photos show. Those photos use either 3 or 4 different filters... with captures of anywhere between 60-300 seconds in length, and there are usually at least 20-80 of each. The human eye can't gather that many photons at one time and then correlate it. There are a FEW objects you can get a hint of the majesty of... but NONE of them when compared to doing actual astrophotography. It's one of the reasons that those that start out in it end up "deep-diving" into the pool and spending WAY more than they originally intended.

They must either be short seasons or you're watching them sped up; average classical syndicated show was 24-26 episodes per season at 42 minutes per episodes, so you're talking ~18 hours of viewing per season.

Newer shows doing the 10 episode thing I suppose might be more doable, where you're still talking 7-ish hours per season so ~35 hours of watching across 3 days is just a marathon viewing.

They did warn us that we couldn't see what pictures captured. I actually saw the thing on your last picture you sent me. I just didn't recognize it at first. Already forgot what it was called. Since then I always look up and see Orion and his belt. 😆 I was still impressed even though it wasn't colorful. 👍
hehehe... guess that's another benefit of being retired!
I can watch a 5 season show in about 3 days.
True true but there's game of thrones I need to see, all seasons, westworld or what it's called, the last of us, house of the dragon, white lotus, his dark materials, etc etc it's just a LOT.

That's a bummer, maybe the new monthly service might be worth it though? I really enjoy HBO Max, I used to have it for free with my cable provider, but I cancelled my cable. :p

Horsehead nebula in Orions belt. ;)
It honestly is probably (besides the Pillars of Creation) one of the BEST known objects in the cosmos.
To get all of Orions belt and the Horsehead I'd have to do mosaic.... and I'm not to that point of expertise yet.

I loved the Crown! So so good! I ended up watching it like in a week xD
I had trouble getting into it. I'm at season 3 and hate the character changes but obviously they had to since the Queen does age. 😆

Well obviously they were gonna show us the best known things. We saw something with 7 in it. Seven sisters? We saw a cluster, jupiter and venus only a few weeks before they kissed. 😆 It was very interesting and I loved it.

Yeah out of the different actresses, I definitely preferred the first one. She seemed to be so full of personality! I enjoy the older actress though because she does kind of evolve to what I think she would have been like in her older age. I found the pieces with Diana in it super interesting too!

Yep... Pleiades. Also known as the 7 Sisters. I've honestly not gotten into planetary stuff yet for captures as there are WAY to many DSO objects to chase!

I preferred the first set of actresses too, both Elizabeth and Philip. I am looking forward to the seasons with Diana because season 3 is history unknown to me though I do know it's fiction based on fact which means lots of it isn't 100% correct but still. XD

Yes that was it, I did have trouble seeing things clearly though either it was me or the telescope but I bet it was me cause the rest of the group seemed to have no problem. 😅
