Is people management a needed skill for all managers?

All these things happen because of bad leadership and lack of proper arrangement in the system ,if they are serious they can arrange all these things in a point that no police will ever get a bribe from anyone again.
Yes, the system is corrupt, for them to arrange the country to suiting your own thought will take a long time cos politicians started the corruption.

You are right. This people management skills is indeed mandatory for the manager to possess. They do not have the right to become manager, if they do not have people management skills.
Anybody that is employ to manage a business without having the ability to manage the business employees will struggle a lot to get the best from his employees.
 
Knowing how to manage people is very important in any set up of business or company because it is people you are dealing with not other beings.
 
It is somewhat shocking that Managing Directors feel it is only right for Human Resources Persons (HR) to possess people management skills as if they (MD) are not supposed to be well equipped with this particular skill.

What's your take as an individual on this?
In any organization managing people is not easy that is why before you attain any managing position, you would have master the act managing both people and resources
 
If you are a manager in a place even if it doesn't warrant that you are going to be managing people you should have basic and entry-level people management skill.
 
It's very important, because if you have no management skills, you will also fail other important tasks that require management to take care of. It's one thing to manage your workers, but to manage the business, taxes, payments, etc can be a burden, and if you don't have the necessary skills, then why are you even in there?

It's simply beyond me to answer, it makes me feel too bad every passing day. Why must it be our own country which evil doers posses destroying it for us.

What i observe about other Western countries and china is that they are trying their best to build their country and to improve their economy why South African leaders do not even care about it and you can imagine the mentality.
 
Of course expertise is needed in a business or company, and all levels of managers require different levels of skill and experience,
 
Yes, people management is an important skill that should be known by the manager or management, some people feel its all about being the boss and giving directive because you are in charge but fro the little i have seen over time its not about being in charge or being the boss but rather having a good communication skill.

The responsibility of managing people shouldn't be the responsible of the human resource person alone as a managing director both the people and the resources are under your control
 
Definitely Yes! All managers must posses the skill of human or people management. Because a manager doesn't just manage the business, he's managing the people, staffs and that's the most difficult
 
Yes it is very important for the manager to acquire people management skills because he/she not only managing the organization without the people working there. He/She should know how to relate and control the activities of the people working with in a professional manner.

That is just the thing and we are just thousands years behind the time and a lot of countries are moving far in terms of technology and advancement and Africa is one of the most poorest and backward continents in the world.
