Is people management a needed skill for all managers?

Management definitely means that you are going to be having some people who you are it's going to be after and try to achieve a particular goal so how you can be able to manage them is something you cannot negotiate.

Since managers deals with business management , management of people is not necessary since they are not dealing directly with customers. I believe their main focus should be on how to perfectly manage the business organisation.
 
You are going to be doing yourself a lot of good if you know how to at least manage a small group of people and get the best out of them. This is one of the most important criteria to building a good environment.
 
People management is a very vital skill every manager should learn how to do. He should be able to coordinate manage and poise other people or his subordinates to work effectively even if he is not present. It is necessary for a manager to be able to handle his subordinates effectively.
 
For the managers innthe work settings , what you need to first know how to manage is the people working under you in order to be succesful in managing other business , because If you can manage the people under you successfully, then the rest is easy.
 
I believe manager to be people who organise the smooth running of a business based on their academic qualification or past experience. Since they organised how business should be operated , they may not likely needs people management skills as this is needed in small quantity in the business
 
The manager should learn how to manage the people and it is important to put this in place because you will be managing the people alongside the finances of the company.
 
This is basically one of the skills that is needed to be a good manager, because you will need to be able to manage the people if you really want to run the business properly and more effectively.

It is somewhat shocking that Managing Directors feel it is only right for Human Resources Persons (HR) to possess people management skills as if they (MD) are not supposed to be well equipped with this particular skill.

As a manager, you definitely need to have people management skills because at the end of the day, it is a group of people you are aiding to get work done. Therefore, I believe these skills are a requirement of managers

The management of the people under you is very important as a manager , once you can manage , control and take care of the people in your department , the rest is easier .

That is very true,because how far your job can go is mainly dependent on the employees and if they are not treated very well it will be very difficult to to acheive some of your target as an organisation.

There are some very essential skills that top management team should have,and the capacity to manage persons is very crucial,because you are dealing with persons with different baground and culture.
