Acceptable behavior to customer

Having regular interactions with the client are a part of the day-to-day business of a Project Manager Professional (PMP). Occasionally, a client’s behavior may fall short of what are considered to be standard norms, be downright aggressive, and the person dealing with the client, in this case the manager has to bear the brunt of that less than cordial attitude

t can be increasingly frustrating having to deal with someone who is overbearing

Customers are very important and every business must treat its customers in such a way that they maintain the trust they have with the organization because the trust is very important for the survival of the organization.

Not all customers are comfortable with humor of any sort but all customers are always okay when you smile and attend to them. This is why customer services must be highly effective, concentrate on what the customer needs and make sure he is fully satisfied, forget the humor, just make sure you are all smiles while attending to the customer.

Sense of humor is especially good in the work environment, all work and no play makes boring and zombie workers which is not good for business. People (customers and workers) experience mood switch every now and then, so before you go cracking jokes, learn to read the mood in the room.

Every person has a different personality and humor. There are some who takes even little thing funny and there are some who take it the wrong way. I guess, the best thing to do is don't make any jokes that would sound offensive.

I have a question related to the business and behaviour regarding the involvement of a sense of humuor. humuor is subjective and what one person believes to be funny, another is offended. By the same token, something funny today may offend me tomorrow. Does humour need to be critically analysed so as to prevent ill timed awkward situations.?
you've got to have a large heart as a business person because you will always meet customers, and people with different characters, and attitudes. You don't have to be bias, you have to love everybody the same, and you have to be very polite with people, and always learn to let go a lot of issues.

Has a business owner customers behavior shouldn't be a barriers for you but overcoming them should be your major concern, overcome can be by you as a business owner only focusing on sale of your own product and not meddle with prices and like wise not meddle with the personal information.
There are some customers that out of frustration from the subordinate, they tend to release it out with maybe the way you present or render services to them.

A good sense of humor in a business is very good and that's how you should be when you address your customers but you don't have to do it too much
Sometimes you have to be serious and all this just depends on the customer you're addressing

I don't think a business environment should be hostile. It always nice to have a little humor in your business as it creates an environment that is relaxing for your customers. You can build humor by complimenting your customers and trying to know what they would like. I think it also goes beyond just humor, you need to relate with them on other levels.

Social norms, or mores, are the unwritten rules of behavior that are considered acceptable in a group or society. ... Norms can change according to the environment, situation, and culture in which they are found, and people's behavior will also change accordingly. Social norms may also change or be modified over time

Having a good sense of humour is a good attribute of any human. It is definitely required to make the environment lively.
However, when in a work environment, that is when dealing with employees and customers, one should limit how humorous one is as we don't know the mood of the listener. It could be offensive to the customer at that particulae time
