If someone makes the mistake of not planning for retirement and because of the mistake he or she is now suffering, what can such person do to make money, and please note that the person is old.
What kind of job can that person do to make money so as to reduce the suffering.

Driver. Do you like to drive? Event Staff.Hotel Concierge.Caretaker/House Sitter.Pet Sitter,Retai, if they are not too old food business is also very lucrative. A counselor too can work just fine

I think the best would be to start a small business because I doubt that there would be any job where such person would be effective, that is if he is able to secure one. He should try businesses that dies not require huge capital such as provision store, fruits and veggies, etc.

There are a lot of businesses one can do after retirement.
I encourage people to start up a business they know about so they won't end up regretting.
And it has to be a business they can be involved in to run the daily affairs.
The truth is some people who are aware of their retirement benefits might have an eye on that hence mismanage the business.
But if they are on ground they can manage their thing properly.

The best type of job one can do after retirement is;
Farming
Caretaker
Nanny
Trading
Pet sitter
This job opportunities are mostly done by old people, they are not too strenuous and require no too much strength,in the case of farming one can employ labourers to plough and till the soil

Consultant/Freelance
Working for yourself is a great way to earn extra money on your schedule. There are jobs available for doing just about anything on a freelance basis, so check out a variety of options that are a fit for your skills and experience.

Freelancing gives you a way to do what you want, as well as to boost your earnings.

As someone who has retired, your strength would no longer be as it was before, so it is not advisable to get involved in a work that is burdensome, demanding and stressful. I will advise you to look for businesses that will require little of your efforts. Or better still, invest and earn passive income.

Just go into business, not the stressful kind of business but a passive money that brings in money into your pocket. After retirement, you should sit down and eat the fruits of your labor, and not the other way round. That is the time to take care of your health and heart to avoid dying young. Go into farming business, there are eager local labourers looking for farm works to do, engage them and get something out of them and theirs.

You could start saving, and investing what you save to grow your money faster.

Then. . .there's trading. It may not be everyone's favorite option, but trust me, it brings in cash. Depends largely on what you trade in.
You'll start small of course, but with time and determination, you'll have a flourishing business of your own, and you'll be richer than dem chubby, gold-toothed Alhajis in Abuja.

Will scout around for more options, but I had to suggest the above. A friend talked about it yesterday and it kinda made sense.

Do some brain-storming, yourself. . .what goods/services do people really need that you are in a capacity to provide?

Many older workers move into a new job before retiring. The position might pay less than they earned at the financial peak of their career, but can be personally fulfilling and provide opportunities to socialize or help others. Landing a new job in your 60s or later can be a challenge, but there are a few industries and occupations that tend to employ older workers. Here are some of the most common occupations for college graduates who are newly hired at age 62 or older;
1. Security
2. Driver
3. Cleaner
Etc.

Hotel Concierge
When you live in a town or city you know well, consider a concierge job at a hotel. The hours are flexible though you may need to work weekends. You’ll be helping guests choose restaurants, tours, events, and activities.

If you know all the best things to do and places to go, consider a second career as a concierge.

The job you did before you retired will help deciding what to do. For me i advice most people to do is investinf in agriculture. Farming is a good investment which equally gives you time to do other things.

There are many jobs available that you can do on a freelance, temporary, short-term, part-time or seasonal basis. Work isn’t all about money, especially when you have spent a lot of your life doing it already. Keep an open mind and think about what you could do, rather than what you did in the past. Also, think about what would be fun to try or to do

I like the list of jobs listed by this poster. These are very practical way of helping a retiree. In addition to what he has listed here I've also seen some retirees doing some other jobs after their retirement. Some of those jobs are career consultant, starting a business especially commodity sales etc. These jobs are the best bet for any retiree who is looking for what to engage with after retirement.

He can do any job of his own interest . In rural areas people tend to do farmimg like cattle farming etc but some start business. Some can start selling shops like dress selling show selling shop, and many more . Some invest in online tbings like Crypto currencies and some deposit into banks and take interest every month.

Many retirees chose to open their own retail company to start a retail business. Retirees are starting their own companies in droves, from running a bed and breakfast to introducing a new product. The internet makes it easy to start a new online company if you have a big cullection of any sort, due to the relatively low overhead costs of selling and advertising online via sites such as eBay, ulX, Facebook Market and Flipkart.

It is wise to plan for retirement term if one is a civil servant because when retired nothing like pay cheque any more, thus the reason for proper planning ahead. One can do the following when approaching retirement,
*invest on trusted institution and cryptocurrency
*Start personal business
