What is the difference between nepotism and cronyism?

Advertisement Placeholder
There is absolutely no difference they both have to involve appointment of people dear to you to a office without giving regards as to if they are qualified or not

Nepotism and cryonism are synonymous in the sense that they both consider a candidate based on favoritism not qualifications. Difference is that, Cryonism is just a deeper form in the sense that it talks about narrowing favors to friends and close relatives while nepotism is for family members and friends on a larger scale

I dont think there is any form of difference that exist between this two because both are aimed at the same think that given someone and appoint or a particular sensitive office simply because is related to you or your family members.

To some extent, they are related, nepotism is giving out business positions to friends and family, while cronyism can still be the same as giving out this position but at this stage you do not care about their qualifications.

Cronyism refers to partiality towards friends and associates while Nepotism is even narrower form of favoritism. It's comes from the Italian word for nephew, it covers favoritism to members of the family.

There are similar in the sense that they favour close friends and relative but I think there is slight difference

Nepotism is awarding jobs and contracts to close relatives especially in government while Cronyism is awarding jobs to friends and colleagues in an organisation.

What is the difference between nepotism and cronyism? DO you know? :)
The terms are related.
Nepotism has to do with giving out business positions to friends or acquaintances while cronyism has to do with giving opportunities to family members who have to qualifications.

It's not even at an extent, there are very related. Both requires favouring someone you love without regarding their qualification, this is very wrong

Nepotism is favoring someone just because you are close to him. For example, if you employ your brother in your company just because he is your brother, that's nepotism. Cronyism more or less means the same thing.

Nepotism and Cronyism mean the same thing .Both refer to the act of favoring friends or relatives by giving them jobs and most of these jobs are given without regarding their qualifications!

It is a very common practice in my country and location. It is very difficult to get a good paying Job unless you have someone on the inside or you have a relative With connection, there are most times they put in their love ones who have no qualifications regarding that particular position.

I think both of them are related because there is nothing different between them, so nepotism and cronyism them both means the same thing.

There is not positive difference between this two the only difference is in the spellings and the pronunciation of the word but all are involved in the same motives of deception and aimed at negative impact on the people.

The only difference is in the spelling,it both means the same thing it clearly highlight favouritism due to closeness it being family

I do not really any difference in nepotism and cronyism because it involves appointing close friends and families into places of power but nepotism could more of other sectors like sport, banking etc while cronyism is more of political appointment.

Cronyism is the practice of partiality in awarding jobs to a friend especially between politicians whereas, nepotism is granting a favour to only your relatives without considering others.

Nepotism is the preferential treatment of family members, whether or not it is warranted. Cronyism, on the other hand, is the practice of favoritism in granting employment and other benefits to friends or trusted colleagues, particularly in politics and between politicians and supporter groups.

Nepotism and cronyism are actually the same. It's favoring an underqualified over the qualified because of their relationship with one another.

I dont thing there is any difference between this two word because both are targeted at the same thing. that's cronyism is base on given opportunities to those or jobs to those who are very close to you.
