Morning people! ❤️

Hai @SiN - How's it hangin'? :D

Ended up having a nap and slept for much longer than needed
Your body probably would argue that it did need the nap :p Glad you're rested at least though! I went and took care of my name change with my employer and read my book for a bit but I have returned lol.

Indeed, it's always nice to spend time with family from afar. No idea when I'll be seeing her again, as I'm too broke to go visit her when my mother and father do every other month.
Do ya'll text/call much? I know it's different from seeing in person though of course. Maybe one month you can go with your parents. Sometimes if you plan alot ahead the flight prices are cheaper!

If we ever text it's via group messages that my mother and father are included in, generally. We don't talk much when we're not together, but she'll usually talk to one of my parents at least once a day.

When I worked at Walmart and Kroger, I could afford to go with them every other month. But, working part-time at Michaels now, I generally get 10-15 hours a week only and that kind of money usually goes towards other needs. I probably need to DoorDash more, find another part-time job, or find a new full-time job if I ever want to go visit her again.

Definitely understand. Having limited hours is definitely not helpful when you're trying to make plans for travel and what not. If you don't mind me asking, when you DoorDashed before - how much would you typically make within an hour or so?

Usually $20 - $30, think. Thankfully, there's base pay, otherwise, when I chose the "get paid by the hour" option and don't see what people's tips are beforehand, I would probably get some crappy tips, like that one guy that gave me a $0.00 tip.

That's not too bad! Sounds kind of worth it! I haven't thought about doing it personally but my bestfriend has been considering it for a few years now. I can't imagine the cruddy tips you get! I always try to tip fairly and I don't typically change the tip once it's been delivered either except for like one instance where the person had been an hour late delivering because they went what it looked like home (this is where it gave pretty much exact location of where they were on the map) and then they stayed there for quite a bit and then decided to get my order and deliver it lol.

I think I've made a few $15 - $20 tips here and there. I'm also in a more small-ish town, so I couldn't imagine doing DoorDashing in a bigger town where orders probably come in non-stop. A lot of times I have to sit in a parking lot and wait for orders to appear. You can definitely rake in a lot of money DoorDashing, it's just a hassle to deal with the traffic mainly.

I'm in a city that has blown up in the last 10 years but it was small at one point as well. I can't imagine doing it in Dallas, but I would think in surrounding cities wouldn't be too awful. I know I had a friend who used to Uber Drive people as well, they would go to the bar areas in local cities to get drunk people and somehow they got paid a lot that way lol.

Yeah, I used to live in Weatherford and it was small during my childhood, but it too has blown up.

I've never considered a driving service, I feel like I'd run into some crazies that way though.

I have friends who work in Weatherford or live there and work pretty close - it definitely has blown up. I drove through it a few times as I was exploring when I lived in Keller/Fort Worth.

I know that I would never want someone else in my car - that freaks me out. I would be worried they'll try and kill me or something. Delivering food is much better - at least it's just the food in my car.

I remember once someone was saying by X year Weatherford and Fort Worth will just about be connected with buildings, it seems it's headed that way.

True, you can still run into crazies in obscure places doing DoorDash though.

I can honestly believe it. People branch out further and further from the main city. That's what happened here it started out in Dallas then people went to Garland/Mesquite, then people began moving to Frisco/Plano... 10 years later a place named Forney started getting a lot of traffic. The city I live in was part of that blow up as well.

True - having to deliver to peoples doorsteps and etc I'm sure can be pretty sketchy from time to time, or the areas you might have to go to because of it.
