Should Staff Work More Than They Are Paid?

I think it’s highly unfair for staffs to work overtime and not be paid. While I understand that there times when extra time has to be put in. The should be some form of payment for the overtime put in especially when it’s an extra work and there was no delay on the part of the employee.

In my opinion, one should be paid what he/she deserves but in most cases people earn less and work more. Working more than your pay, shows your dedication and willingness to the job even if it's not your desired job.

Well it matters , for instance if the job is so stressful they could do what they are capable of doing, but if they enjoy the job why not, it makes them have more wide experience and acquire new skills, some people work because they love to do job and they do it joyfully so their isn't anything bad in it

Honestly a staff is not expected to work more than he or she is been paid for, but that isn't the case in most organizations today. A lot of staff now multi task outside there normal duties and still earn less for doing that.

The job description of every staff Is spelled out the moment he gets a job in any company. This is usually directly proportional to the pay he receives and his certifications. However, is it appropriate for any staff in any business or company to be working more than he gets paid. Can he volunteer to do more that what was designed for him to do?
@Dubai every job has it own job description. When taking up a new Job, an agreement must be reached between both parties on how to compensate the newly hired staff member for an additional job done which is not stated in the job specification.

It relies upon the nature of the work.

In the event that the work is prepared at unsurprising occasions for the individual to finish at their own speed, at that point sure. The laborer controls their speed and their quality and never needs to remain around pausing (neglected) for work. They are allowed to accomplish something different when there is no work.

In the event that the business should be staffed whether there are clients fit to be served, at that point in no way, shape or form. Expecting somebody to be right away accessible to work however not paying them for that accessibility is stealing.

In most cases it's not always fair that a staff should work more than the pay they give him or her. But in developing countries mostly that is how it's done because unemployment rate is very high, the few workers who got the job will be working more than their pay and if they try complaining, it result in dissimisal and because of that they continue to work more than their pay.

It depends on what you are getting and what you are giving. If you are on the giving side I think you should work less. When you are on the receiving end I think you should work more to acquire more experience.

Doing more than is required is what stands some people out and shows dedication in their place of engagement. Taking on more responsibilities than is required is one of the ways people e in climbing the corporate ladder quickly as it puts you in front of the bosses as someone who can handle more than required.

Naturally the work of load of staffs in an organization is always more than their remuneration, it is given, almost all organisation pay their staffs way below the effort put in by the staffs.

How do you determine the amount of work someone does, to the amount of money he or she will earn? Ideally, the amount of work should be equivalent to the work. However I some countries, you can't equate the ratio.

My dear they no value of doing that when you fully no that nothing good will come after it. Instead of weasting that your time there find something else doing so the you will increase the level of your income. Time there say nah money. Onless you grab joy doing that

The truth of the matter is that there is no worker who doesn't work more that what he/she is been paid. No employer will employ an employee who will work less than the hour agreed upon. But working more than the hour agreed upon is their joy. But when the extra time is deliberate, then it is called over-time and it has to be paid for. Unless the worker want to overlook it.

If a worker is earning from his salary, he will perform to the best of his ability. The highest paid person encourages a good job, because he wants to please his employer in order to maintain his position.

In modern labour law and economic law, it is not always proper and good enough for employee to work with less pay but I see lot of people in this category just because the don't want to lose their job and the labour Market is not favourable to the unemployed too

A staff can decide to do extra job he is been assign to do.Because no matter how you are been paid for a particular job, your employer knows you are worth much more than that.
Doing the extra job will give you an added experience in other sector.

It can be a little frustrating for employees to work more than what they’re being paid to do. Though the purpose of employing every worker is to try move the company forward but as an employee you must consider a lot of other things. Your health and your income should dictate a lot of things and lastly you’ve to ask yourself if the company truly value you

It has long been known that high-employee engagement leads to high productivity, with the recent Multinational Gallup Pool finding that high-quarter teams have reduced productivity by 21% for employee engagement.

It depends on the appointment letter the employee signed. If the conditions of appointment has changed, the staff needs to talk to the human resource management to have a look on the terms and conditions of the appointment. If the management didn't effect any changes that affect him positively on the job, he can either endure it or resign from his duties.
