I was lucky to have left a company that later on would retrench some employees. The boss was a kind person that he promised those who will be retrenched to be given an extra month of salary aside from the separation pay. The employees understood the retrenchment. Unfortunately the business closed afterwards.Well, in reply to your question in the above post concerning how to break the news of retrenchment to your employees, well, I would say that you just have to be completely honest with them rather than lie to them as that could be worse
Haha.... As long they know that is at the best interest of the company is to reduce staff in my company it shouldn't be hard. But you won't just den them off like that, you will have to pay them the following month.Assuming there is a major economic downturn in the the economy, most companies won't have any other choice but to lay off some workers to be able to stay afloat.
This decision is always going to be a very difficult decision for the company to take. Now let's say this is your company and you have no choice but to lay off some of these staffs that you are so fond of,how will you break this news to this workers to lessen the effect of this devastating news?
I would want you to put yourself in the shoes of this staff who are being retrenched out of your company. They are being laid off into a job market where there are no jobs in existence and that means that they cannot be able to fend for themselves and even their families.Haha.... This is not the matter of putting myself into there shoes, i was once there and i'm still leaving, which happen last year even though things will look tough for them, but its a believe that its just a phase. That's why i said the company to pay upfront salary to maintain themselve till they find a better job.I would want you to put yourself in the shoes of this staff who are being retrenched out of your company. It's a very difficult thing for anyone to lose their job as it can be so painful especially when you don't have any alternative to fall back on. For most companies, they know that it's a very difficult decision for them to take because in as much as they are plunging more people into the unemployment pool they are also at risk of losing good hands to work for their company. It is a difficult thing to lose your job. As a manager or a friend to an employee that lost his job, you will have to let them understood the reasons that let to their retrenchment and encourage or wish them well in all their future endeavors.
Most times companies are left with no other options than to retrenched their employees which is mostly caused by unfavourable economy conditions in the country. It's a very difficult thing for anyone to lose their job as it can be so painful especially when you don't have any alternative to fall back on. Some times companies are left with no other options than to let go of their staff when the economy does not favour their business or when the company keeps recording losses on their business.During the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of companies retrenched their workers because of the harsh economic situation other things the pandemic brought. It is therefore better for people to have another income source so that when such time arises they will be able to cope.
Just like you said, when a company has employes suplus to equirement, then the inevitable happens which is retrecnchment of employess that are not needed, this could be as a result of falling revenue or jobs are no longer coming as it used to.Retrenchment, or redundancy, is when a worker loses their job because it's no longer needed. It's important that the employer does not make you redundant, they make the position redundant. Usually this means that they should not be replacing the your position with someone else
Any organisation that does not inform it workers ahead of time if there'd be any need for retrenchment is not responsible organisation and so if their workers should protest then those workers are actually justified for their protest. If you really wants to retrenchment in a business or company you have to informed them on time so that them will not be disappointed at that moment.
