Is there a difference in corruption, if privately done and not in the government?

Corruption is corruption! There's no place that a corrupt act doesn't leave a stench. If corruption is to be eradicated, all hands must be on deck. It's not a responsibility of one person. The change starts with YOU!

There is no difference in corruption from any sector a thief in nigeria and a thief in the US are both thieves so there is no difference.

It does not really matter if the corruption is in government or privately because corruption is the same thing no matter where and how. We must do everything to fight corruption.

No. There's isn't much difference. Although one has to deal with public corruption and the other which is a private one. Both of them needs to be sanctioned

Do you think it makes any difference if the corruption takes place in private businesses rather than in governments? If so, what is the difference

Corruption is corruption irrespective of where it is practised.
Whether in the private sector or in the government sector, or in the church or in a little business one is managing. Just as sin is sin irrespective of the one commits.

Well there's no any difference between the government corruption or private sector corruption, because all is the same hence it's all a corruption to any significant level.

Whether corruption is carried out in a private organisation or a government organisation it is something that should not be encouraged because it makes life very miserable for those that are affected.

The difference is the system a failure and you feel bad but when an individual decide to be corrupt it is definitely for his personal gain and this will be detrimental to him although he may take pride in it

There is no difference. Corruption is corruption whether it's private or government, it's still the same. Therefore it should be stopped, because it's not good for any nation.

There is no difference but private businesses try to justify corrupt practices by tagging it as business strategies. Shoddy practices exist in all establishments and should be condemned.

Trading in influence

Sometimes referred to as influence peddling, this activity occurs when a business employee gives payments, undue advantage or expensive gifts to a public official, expecting to receive an undue advantage from the public authority in return. An example is when business people make political donations with the intent of influencing political decisions, policies or laws.

Embezzlement

This happens when employees misappropriate anything of value that was entrusted to them because of their position.

Favouritism, nepotism, cronyism, clientelism

These forms of corruption occur when a person or group of persons are given unfair preferential treatment at the expense of others.

While these examples of private sector corruption are non-exhaustive, they illustrate that corruption in business is much more than just bribery. Contrary to a popular sentiment, private sector corruption does not usually involve a suitcase or envelope full of money. The examples listed above demonstrate that there are many grey areas, where business practices may be legal but are at risk of being misused, such as gifts and hospitality.

No, there's no difference between corruption privately and that done in the government. Corruption is till the same, it doesn't matter where or how it is done

There is no difference between corruption perpetrated in private institutions or government institutions so far the act is against the law.

Why would you want to differentiate or rationalize corruption in the first place? What is not for is simply not good. Corruption is going to be the same thing anywhere it is committed. Be it on the government or by the private sector

I dont sees any difference between corruption privately done and those that are done in the public sector environment this is because they both boils down to the same motives of deception to the people and also self seeking interest of individuals.

Corruption is always corruption, no matter who did it or whether they are influential people, leaders or followers. This is not really the case in my country as they consider whatever the government does as the right stuff to do

There is no difference in corruption whether it is done in private companies or government agencies. However, corruption in the government agencies affect the entire population.

As for me there is no different between the corruption either the private sector or government sector, corruption should be corruption no matter how smallest it is

corruption is corruption no matter how were it take place,is just like stealing a pen,and rubbing a bank, all of them are called thieves,so I don't see any difference between private corruption, and government corruption.
