I used to work for a site that was hijacked by a disgruntled co-worker. I knew the site owner well, and he got me a job there. I didn't know the guy all that well, but he seemed like a jerk from our correspondence. We didn't talk much either, thank goodness. Anyway, that's not what this is about.

This is about the time he took over the site. He was able to get on the backside of the site and changed the site owners details, as well as mine. I found out when I couldn't sign into my account, and then I saw what he did. He put pornography all over the site and left it be. The site owner had to reachout to godaddy to get the site back and remove the content. It was rough.

Has anyone done this, or tried to hijack or hack your site? I worry all the time someone will mess with my sites.

This is why I always prefer to handle my online stuffs by myself. Even if I'm not an internet guru and I'm not a programming expert, I always make sure that I know the basic so that even if I give out some task to be done for me I can still have the access and make some little changes.

In our office website I was the one in charge and I am the only one who knows the password for our website. However, the contractor is the one doing the maintenance work so he is my alter ego. My assistant in my section does only the backing up of the articles and not the database. Fortunately there was no bad incidents that happened.

No one that has ever worked on my site before has ever hijacked it form me. I guess I will have to be careful on whom I permit to have access to my site admin settings

This is a very strange one. It will be very bad an act to have worked for someone to end up hijacking the person's site. That's robbery. No one has ever done that to me that has worked on my site

That's a bizarre act there by the hijacker, it doesn't make sense to hijack one's site because you have an issue with him. I don't have such kind time to hijack anyone's site. I've never experienced that either, and i don't intend to.

Well have not worked for any site before so i don't really think i could relate with that in experience but the guy trust did that must be prisoned

not a site, but a discord server, this happened back in 2018 back when i had my own custom discord server, and a guy that i trusted so much ended up kicking members from my server and ruining it

This is the reason why I do not allow anyone to manage my site from the backend. I might give someone editorial access on my site but I have never given administrative access.

That is pathetic, people can just be very funny. My site has never been hijacked because I do not have one but there was this site that we worked on as a group and someone wanted to destroy it but because we were much we were able to prevent it.

If you have got anyone that has done this bizarre act of fraud to you, what you need to do is to make a police report and take up the matter I'm court for a redress for damages done to you

Seriously, that is why I do prefer working or handling my things myself. People can not be fully trusted no matter the years of friendship or mutual relationship. And if it happens to me, the person won't go scot free.

Hijacking as the owner site as an admin is the worst and ungreatful attitudenif betrayer I have ever seen, I believe as a co-worker If you lob the site, why didn't you just ask the admin to sell to you or rather implore him to help you create your own site,

There are mischievous people all over the internet and will need to be careful about them. You also need to be careful the kind of people your partner with in managing your website because some people can be evil.

When it comes information management with such a vital property, nobody can be trusted. Even if you commission out some of operations to some expert, one still has to be very careful because nobody can be trusted.

I have not been involved in site business but I wish to involved had it been I have the knowledge to gi about it but I have hard a number of people who are into the site business and they testify been hack by their business partners who is more experienced than them.

Yikes, I'm sorry to hear that. I've been working more with Discord myself as of late, and it can be messy. The key thing here, is to never give a member that much ability on the server. Or did he hack your Discord account? Discord is a lot more protected these days.

I have actually not experience someone who had worked for me on my website hijack my website later on because I don't really have bonafide website right now.

Yes, there is this one time a VA i hired tried to take my site. But he could not get the Authentication code. So it did not go through. It really freaked me out. From that day, i only hire VAs from reputable freelance sites.

Yes it happened twice and one time he took over on my website but lucky that my hosting company act very fast and save my website, although I lost some data and traffic but at least I recover my website back.
