By fast posters, I mean those members that sign up to a community and instantly recognise who is the top poster on the community itself so that they can post ALOT to beat that member. Yes, I mean those people who post like 100 + times a day with their low quality posts.

Personally, whilst it is funny to see, it really does annoy me.

You'd have to post thousands just to try to get even close.

I think this is one of the dangers of relying on a user's post count; yes, it's one signal but are the posts useful, informative, or helpful?

Frankly speaking, I have created 100 posts on a single forum in a single day. However, when I posted, I also cared about the quality. Posting fast does not always mean low quality. I have been a member on a couple of paid to post forums and on this forums I used to make a lot of posts to earn better. However, I do believe that when someone is posting pretty fast, they might lack quality.

I'm kind of a fast poster myself.

However, I don't post to get on the leaderboard or spam. I just get into a community. Sometimes, the community turns out to be one that doesn't like people posting a lot. I'll usually lose interest in it after that.

However, I do try to post quality content.

I like to be known for that in all honesty. Hopefully I am, lol.

Where did you come from @Shawn Gossman . When I wrote the above, I was so tempted to add " you should ask shawn " ;)
I vanished for a while.

Changed careers. Back to forums and hope to stay but I'll leave admin forums to the pros like Admin Junkies haha

Nice to see you again old friend!

If the posts are of low quality, I am going to be worried about it. However, getting lots of posts that have high quality will make me worry less about the number of posts that they do. I have seen those who can make 100 posts or more daily, and all of them are high-quality posts.

I agree.

If they fast post and the content is great, it's great for your community.

If they do low quality content, then you need to find out why and if it's because of spam or something like that. And take action if needed.

One of my biggest, all time pet peeves is when you ARE a fast poster or typer, and the forum imposes the forced wait (eg. you can't post for another 10 sec! or, you can't start a new topic in another 60 sec!).
I totally agree with this one.

60 seconds or more would make me become inactive!

I don't like this either myself! I am a fast poster and it drives me crazy when I have to wait 30 or more seconds to make another post especially if it's on a forum with a niche I'm very passionate about.

It is frustrating when I am forced to stop posting for a certain period of time. I can't really deal with it, especially when the ideas are flowing as I post. I want to have the freedom to post fast or go slower as I wish.

This!

This is something that annoys me so much! I understand why some forum owners do it but I will be honest that there are other ways they can prevent spam that does not involve having a time before members can make a post or a thread.

I have been on forums where I have had to wait 180 seconds and that can be frustrating as a fast typer.
