Both sales and marketing are aiming towards the same goal,but the difference there is that when going into sales you could get a store and showcase your goods and services there,and customers will start coming to buy from you,because of the work of marketing,without not doing some marketing their won't be much sales I guess. So they both work together to achieve the same goal.

In reply to your question which is difference between sales and marketing, well I have to say that marketing is more of putting your business out there and more of what you call advertising, while sales involves closing deals and selling
 
Sales is the direct process of buying and selling. It talk about direcrl delivering goods and services to customers. Marketing encompasses a broader scope. It has to do with manufacturing, packaging, delivery etc. Marketing starts when the product is being manufactured and ends when it is delivered to the customer.
 
Sales means selling of product, marketing means using promotional tactics to drive sales. sales is the result of marketing effort. There are various ways to do marketing.
