Difference between sales and marketing

Sales happen when customers does a transaction with you. Marketing is a system of insuring a consistent sales of your products and services. Strong marketing will bring about consistent sales for the company.

What do you believe is the contrast between both?
Without marketing your business products and services, it's definitely going to be very difficult for you to sell a lot of them especially when you have good competition.
 
The sales and marketing department of a business organization perform different functions and attributes. Marketing department are in charge of getting the products for goods to the customers while sales department are in charge of selling the goods and products.
 
Marketing is more of taking your product outside your location or within your location to get the audience know about it whereas sales can be done during the marketing.
 
Selling is just the general buying of a product and getting paid in physical cash or in exchange for another commodities.. marketing to me is some sort of advertisement in which a product owner create some sort of awareness about the existence of his products.
 
Marketing is the creation of the awareness of your product through advertising your product to people and sales is when people purchase your product in exchange do money.
 
And also I understand marketing to be a strategist that business owners or producers adapt to make sure their products are widely spread across a large population of people. Greating awareness about the existence of a particular product is also marketing.
 
Both of them are different business terms and they are doing use in business differently when trying to differentiate between selling and advertisement. I got this may include all the strategy that is needed to make a product known to prospective client while selling is a day-to-day buying of goods or services

The sucess of any products or services that any organisation is offering is a direct function of its marketing department and the strategy they are putting in place to get and continue to retain new customers.
 
If your business want to succeed in your line of business , you need proper marketing that will help you tell the people about your business generally and the sales deals with the selling of your product .
 
There is actually a good difference between the both of them and it is important that every business owner should know. Marketing is trying to get more people to know about your product while sales is the real exchange.

The difference between sales and marketing is quite evident in my opinion. Marketing is where people are made aware of a business or brand to attract potential customers whereas sales deals with using that awareness that has been built to make profits
 
In every organisation,there are persons that are responsible in creating awareness and getting the public to know about the products and packages the company have to offer,these are the marketing team,while the sales are responsible in sales of the product and keeping records of sales.

I think that both of them could be defined in simpler words. Marketing refers to the process of promoting products, but sales is actually an act of selling the products.
 
Thanks for the explanation , it is much more easier that way most especially for a layman to understand. A lot of people may be confused about those two terms @Good-Person
 
Sales refers to activities that lead to the selling of goods and services, While marketing is the process of getting people interested in the goods and services being sold
 
I believe marketing involves advertising and all the strategies used to promote sales of goods and services while sales refers to when one's good or service is purchased.
 
Marketing has to do with the activity of presenting, advertising and selling of a company's products. While sales has to do with the income ( at invoice value ) received for goods and services over some given period of time.
The marketing department is the section of an organisation that is sadle with the responsibility of promoting the roducts and servuces of an organisation,the sales department is responsible with sales and financial records of the firm.
 
Different tasks are carried out by a company organization's sales and marketing departments.
While the marketing department is in charge of delivering the items or goods to the clients, the sales department is responsible for selling the goods and products.
