Delegating an e-commerce site to the staff

Do you think it is wise to delegate the operation of the e-commerce website to the staff? An online store owner is planning to sell his website but for the meantime his staff are handling the operation. It is not clear about the status of the business but it looks like it is earning. If you were the owner, would you just sell or let the staff do the work?
There are companies that have people fill the position of e-commerce management.
Instead of doing all the tasks as a business owner, employ one or two professional hands to help out with that aspect.

Sincerely it will take serious pressing needs for me to see my website or anything I build with my ideal or sweart or money, especially if the thing is still profitable

You may do that but the employees must be trustworthy in order to be able to handle the business and work honestly. Unfortunately, it is hard to trust people nowadays, so you must monitor the activities of the employees. You must trust your employees to some extent no matter what.

You can delegate some aspects of the e-commerce business to some of your stuff that you trust. but it is very important to keep an eye on them to avoid laxity or cheating on the system.

From what you have stated it is clear that the business still has a way forward but the owner might not have so much time for it. Provided that the workers can continue to bring profit then there will be no use of selling it.

It is wise to give out the website to a staff who should at least be trustworthy (I believe at least one person out of a crowd should posses that attribute) because you might not have the needed time and attention to handle the site effectively but you can still monitor it.

It is better to give that responsibility to a trusted skilled personnel if you as the business owner is too busy to handle it.
This doesn't stop you from overseeing its affairs.

Its not a wise decision, it's better to handle it yourself. I once heard of a disgruntled staff who changed all the the passwords of a business's social media handles and restricted the owner from gaining access.

This happens when you hire a person who does not live in your own city. There are many professional companies in my city that are quite reliable and you can use their services to manage your site.

From onset I had never supported any body to sell his own company or anything he found to another person except the thing is worthless,to me I will allow the staff to their job

well also to me I won't even have a taught of selling it but worth if the worker is not to be trustrusted with the site in terms it f trying to claim the site at the latter days

You can let the staff do the job while you oversee it. That's from my own perspective as I would still like to be involved in the business partly or totally.

If the website is generating income the moment the staff handles it, I will allow him to continue. It means he's capable of handling it better. But if it is not generating money, I will sell it off since I would be traveling and I may not have time for website any more.

You can delegate most of the things about your e-commerce business to your workers except for the winning products research. it is your duty to always determine the next progress you are going to promote on your ecommerce store. Any of your staff can use this knowledge against you if they know how to source for winning products.

1.Improve your communication

Good communication is crucial, both within your team and across your third-party relationships. Delegate and align the relationships with the appropriate members of the team, who have both the skill set and aptitude to suit. Get the best value out of your agencies and third-parties by allowing their specialist skills and knowledge to create impact and ROI for your business.

2. Keep developing, improving and be inspired by others

There are many nuances and pitfalls in delegating to your team. An important thing to consider is setting your team challenges rather than tasks. Teams will complete tasks, but you ideally want them to find solutions to challenges, helping them to:

  • improve its collective intelligence
  • grow together
  • become more efficient.
This will breed confidence amongst your team, so they will be more eager to learn, develop and achieve. Increased efficiency will benefit your team (and you), as your time will be freed up to focus on high-level strategy and decision-making

3. Free up more time to focus on strategy

A malaise that affects numerous businesses, is strategy stagnating due department heads and management being spread to thinly and becoming blind to the issues within the organisation.

Delegating key responsibilities to your team (and third-parties) will enable you to take a more agile approach to strategy. Increased focus on your ecommerce strategy will help you to discover more opportunities for growth and innovation.

I think many big websites like Walmart and Amazon have definitely assigned a good and professional staff that deals with customer complaints and handle requests of the customer. This is why they are able to manage such a big business. I have never used an E-commerce store before, but I think an E-commerce store must be handled professionally. many E-commerce websites even outsource employees living in foreign countries.

I think specialisation is really important when it comes to business on ecommerce deals , because specialisation actually makes tHE business more easier to operate than before

The key to success in the organization of business processes online store is the ability of the head to delegate duties to their subordinates or partners, as to cope with all the functions often simply impossible. But many still want to do everything on their own.

There are people who offer their services as virtual assistants on freelancing websites, many of them have skills in the area of e-commerce management and are very hardworking and dedicated.
That is basically the role and function an employer would give out in terms of outsource job,all the employer needs to do,is to set up a mechanism to be properlly monitoring the operations of the business.
