What name do you give to your custom CSS file? Is it just style.css? Or do you go creative with the name?

I have always been on the conventional side.

In WordPress, I name it after the theme itself - usually the same name as the company for whom it is being built. In other platforms, I tend to name it after the function it is for, whether that is 'index' for the main theme, 'admin' for admin specific things etc.

Usually, when using it on a forum, I give it the name of the theme. For instance, Azuria.css because the name of the theme is Azuria. But, on Jcink at least it uses an internal stylesheet instead of an external one, but of course, you can still use an external stylesheet on the platform if you so wish.
