Common mistakes that cost jobs opportunities 1

Yes, it appears that we are on the same page. The number of job seekers who arrive late to the interview can be seen as a common mistake as they are often too worried about preparing their CV, rather than preparing for the interview. Being over confident isn't good for glancing over a resume, or ever for that matter.

Another mistake often made by job seekers is putting what they cant defend on their resume. Now, during interview section questions are asked on such information printed on the CV but unfortunately, candidate is unable to answer .Its either they start blabing or say something completely different.
This is common with job seekers, they polish their Curriculum vitae more than their actual personality and they end up not being able to defend it in an oral or demonstrative interview then after

Hard Truth: Your good résumé is never enough to get the job you want.

I've screened résumés (manually & via the ATS) and conducted countless interviews for years and observed that a good number of times, individuals do not match their résumés. This is mostly revealed during the interview process where candidates show up unprepared.
Common mistakes that cost Job Opportunities.

1. Showing up late: This happens even during virtual Interviews. I've experienced candidates show up after almost 30minutes of the scheduled time. That's a red flag.
This is right as if the record form the past interview it will be clean for the bad record in its self as the candidate it must show itself for early about 30mins as the others say its better the applicant will be waiting rather than the employee this is true.

I guess one of the common mistake most people make is that of regard and ettique, based on my recent review on so many job interview, an experiment was taken on the behavior of employee when they employ them, so instead physical and normal interview the company decide to give a behavior interview, because so many candidate based on there credentials qualifies for the post but there are large numbers of applicant, this interview was monitored without the consent of the applicant attention, and this led to the selection of the worthy and most caution person for the job.
So let be morally and caution and have this sense of humility while seeking for job, during, interview and even most especially after you must have being interviewed and asked to stay back for more information.

One of the commonest mistakes is in ability of a person to write a well motivating cover letter. Not only that, the approach taking during an interview by the interviewee. Answering questions accurately is also a determinant fact. Much more, dressing is also reason why many people missess great job opportunities. You don't dress shabbishly for an interview.

Any candidate who comes late for an interview should be found upon but sometimes you really can't blame people. Using my country as a case study, traffic congestion is one of the major problems we face here so I imagine you going for an interview and being held in a place by traffic you will have to just appear at the interview late.

The job interview is a delicate kind of “dance” between job seeker and employer. From an employer’s perspective, they’re trying to get a sense not only of your skills and ability to succeed in the role but also your character and how well you would fit in or add to their company culture. Likewise, as a job candidate you should be open and forthcoming in how you represent yourself while also finding out as much as you can about the company, the role, and your potential bosses or colleagues so that you too can assess if it’s a good fit.

Time!time! Punctuality they say is the sole of business. I have done resumes for people and it baffled me when am told to include what they are not . But shouldn't it be common sense for them to go and find out or make themselves learn what they asked to be included in their CVs? Some even show up in interviews with some careless dressing.

Many factors could influence the opportunities of applicants to get work. One is the counterfeiting of resume material. Many candidates are lying about details in an effort to please interviewees. Some argue that in real life they can't promote skills/qualifications. The lack or insufficient training is something else. An applicant is to make a thorough inquiry into the company in which he plans to operate. Know about them as much as you can because your interviewees are involved in checking their expertise.

In the part of the world were we live here a lot are falling victims for this because there us what we call African time, Africans are always late to attend many things including interview and that has made a lot other continent see us as unserious. Late coming has made a lot lose their job.

Yes this is actually true some people do not actually match their resume. Some people do not match their educational qualification also. That is the reason why i always ask people to learn skills even if you're going to school then combine it with your qualification, of course you can be employed anywhere.

This is true. Showing up late to an appointment is a sign of irresponsibility on the part of applicants, time and appointment should be respected as something crucial especially when it's your time. First impression last longer.

According to my own point of view, I believe every business organisation has their own rules and regulation, going against the rules and regulation of the business organisation might cost jobs opportunity, example watching movie with your phone when you're on duty

Yes, you are right. Many job seekers show up late for interviews and then get disorganized during the interview because they have little time to settle down and be ready for the interview. Many however, also put things they are not on their resumes.

In my experience, one of the things that cost me some job opportunities are my indecision and my lack of self confidence. Both things that I really need and be good at, but I'm not. Not really. Today, with a job of my own, I can't say I have much confidence and decisiveness, but I think I've improved.

There are so many factors or mistakes that cost one job opportunities....out of many is
TIME FACTOR OR PUNCTUALITY
when I say time of being punctual...it has to do with when you av been given appointment for an interview...it is better for u to arrive 30minutes earlier to d stated time to avoid u being late and thereby you lossing d job

Punctuality is very important, especially if it is about a job, not to mention being interviewed for a job.

Though I wonder how the interviewers judge their applicants. I'm asking because someday I will apply for a job and I usually get nervous at these things.

While you want to do your best to give thorough, substantive answers to the interviewer’s questions, there is a natural point in the conversation when enough is truly enough.

Even though job seekers know that making a mistake on your app materials is one of the biggest no-no's you can make when you're on the job hunt, it's still one of the most common complaints you'll hear from hiring managers.
