What were your thoughts on the Lord of the Rings Movie Trilogy and the Hobbit films?I'm a huge Tolkien fan, so lots of Tolkien
You go in with an understanding that they're never going to be truly faithful to the books. It think most of the changes made sense for the films, some were odd, and then stretching the Hobbit out into three movies was not a particularly strong choice, but I understand why they did it. All six are good films, but you go in knowing there will be liberties taken and there were. So, good films, but exaggerated. What were your thoughts on the Lord of the Rings Movie Trilogy and the Hobbit films?
As someone who enjoyed reading the books, I'm curious if the move adaptations lived up to the books to a certain level.
That's true, there is only so much you can put in 12 hoursish of film. You go in with an understanding that they're never going to be truly faithful to the books. Honestly, not really, they were as faithfully done as you could expect, but I wish Helms Deep was just a little more accurate. Otherwise I'm fine with the whole thing. That and Tom Bombadil, they needed Tom Bombadil! That's true, there is only so much you can put in 12 hoursish of film.
Were there any particular bits you wished you could have seen on the big screen that they didn't put into the films?
