It doesn't wise at all to quit your company after making mistakes because mistake is just a teacher so as to teach you how to adjust yourself so that such mistake will not happen again. There is a wise words say" nobody ever above mistake". It is a lesson for us to learn.

I think it depends on the size of the company and its strength. If it's a one-man business, then it's all yours no matter what you do with it. But if it's a corporation with board of directors and shareholders who also own stakes in the company. Then, decisions and conclusions have to be made according to the degree of the mistake you made.
