Why Is Foreign Products Cheaper Than Made in Nigeria?

To be honest, it all comes down to quality and the price of raw material.

Sometimes, you need to import stuff to get them at a cheaper price. It's better to plan such stuff to make some profit. Most of the foreign products gets the raw material for a far cheaper price than our own.
Well, it wouldn't have the same quality but that can be ignored by many.
Probably, that's why they are cheap.

Yeah but even with agriculture produce it should be cheap, we have a fertile land here, crops grows well, I think some people in the government are benefitting from importing into the country

There could be a difference of manual labor and machine labor too. To be honest, there is such thing as efficiency too when it comes to making use of resources.

All of that would play a part in the price of actual end product. Also, probably not all the products are genuine organic products. So, it all comes down to quality as well. Usually organic products are pretty expensive around where I live.

To be honest, I am not sure about it. I am from India and over here people are crazy about imported goods. I try to stick with local organic products. Most of the time they have better quality, even though they can be a bit expensive.

You just need to show people proof that you are selling genuine organic stuff. Then I am sure there will be a high demand for such products.

The cost of raw materials used in producing Nigeria products is very expensive,it is expensive because exchange rate of foreign exchange to to local currency is very high, which leads to high cost of local product.

Firstly the cost of raw materials used in producing product in Nigeria are very expensive and to transport them to the manufacturing location takes another expenses. So when the product is ready, it expensive.

I think that may be due to high cost of production locally. Eg. In agriculture you buy or import fertilizers, pesticides, machineries used in production and manufacturing, high labour force

I like to study people and their behavior. I wanted to become a psychiatrist before but switched to programming in the last minute. It depends on what we produce and export I suppose. Over here, almost everything is exported to other countries as far as I know.

Programming is really cool and I like it.
I am a software engineer now and I like what I do except for the workload, as of now. I am thinking of switching companies but at the moment, I am on a long leave.

I got a silver medal during my university days and my professors wanted me to select a software job. I don't mind it to be honest. I like it and I am good at it. So, it all works out.

There may be technology there but there are only few that cant produce agricultural products in large quantity so people know use crude implement

It might be due to high taxation and rise in the price of the products due to rise in the cost of living.

One of it, they are taxing us high and also making anti people policies

The marketers are at fault, they are the main reason why the prices of goods to be expensive....foreign food are more cheaper cos some of them are been stored for along time before been sold...and also problems with distribution are affecting the price of food in the country..we also have bad roads and bad government

Yea, but one major issues is due to low productivity. The demand of agricultural product seems higher than the supply

I think the reason why it expensive is because Nigeria government is not strict on regulation..that main reason everyone is doing as they like.
