Why are people running from making a living out of farming?

Many people see farming as a dirty business that's why some people are running away from it. I will say that those who are running away from farming lack knowledge about it. Farming happens to be one of the most profitable businesses. There is no way you can venture into crop production farming that you will not make profit. It's not a must that you run the whole farming operation by yourself, you can commit it into some people's hand to manage for you.

Yet, we are all about cryptocurrency and online businesses. Businesses that does not require the level of activities involved in farming business.
I know that most will agree with me that farming looks like a tough kind of business compared to other sectors, but it also generates revenue like the others. So l would like to know why majority run away from it.

Most people run away from agriculture especially in Nigeria because, they believe it is a dirty man profession which does not really pay off. I really can't fault people with this believe because most of the crop farmers are not looking good except the mechanized farmers.

One reason people think farms are the best job for poor people is the fact that they are used by the poor. Not having much money does not mean you can't be a farmer. The way the world is, everyone seems to be concerned with other people's achievements and follow other people's success trends. However, you hardly find people who make decisions because they want to do them, but instead you see people following what close friends have done because they think they can do well after them (It is very sad).

I don't know about other countries, but here in pakistan, more than half of our population is involved in Farming of different types. Means this is the biggest source of earnings for us. Yes, it generates a good revenue and allows you to have multiple businesses at once. Which I Don't think any other business allows you to do so. So people should prefer it while starting a new business.

I really don't know why people seems to be running away from farming, but one reason I think this is happening is because of cost of acquiring or renting a land to engage on the farming work. Another reason is that people seems to see farming job as job meant for only the poor to engage om.

Farming to most young people of this generation looks like an ordinary work that does not match their level of exposure when it comes to the kind of work they want. Well, farming is a cool business and it has upgraded from crude farming method being practised by olden days farmers, farming is now simple with mechanization and technology.

You are making good point. I also think youth or graduates are running from farming because of the fact that government has not really placed any priority on farmers whom are the feeders of the nation rather priority is placed on other fields or areas with juicy packages.

Farming is a very profitable business and I sometimes think why youths run away from it. I have read about so many Agro based industry and companies and see how they produce farm products which are good for human consumption. The reason people run away from farm is because government don’t intervene financially to farming and there is no development in the sector over years.

The reason is because this generation is not a patience generation at all. Which Agriculture will u do that won't last up to 6 -12 month before u get revenue although the business is what people can't do without but crypto profit is faster compare to agriculture.

Because farming business may take a long time before it can be generating a profit for farmer, farming in s like long time investment and most people don't want to invest on a long time investment anymore, they want something that will be generating a daily income, and apart from that, farming is very stressful.

people can only be encouraged to be a farmer if government invested Heavily in Agriculture. Basic amenities should be put in rural area where the majority of farmers resides. Grant should be giving to farmers as well as free interest loan. All this will encourage the jobless you to go into agriculture
