What is difficult to design for you?

For me, it's the smaller things that are more difficult for me to design. I'm doing more avatars lately so I'm getting better at that, but small images like favicons and userbars still get me.
My rule of thumb is always keep smaller things simple. Trying to fit too many elements into a smaller canvas will make the quality of the overall piece lower. Simplicity is best.

I agree but I mostly design for teenagers and they want the fanciest graphics money can buy. lol
Well you gotta make them understand that you can't get too advanced in such a small canvas otherwise it'll look shitty. :p I've gotten some serious persuasion skills doing this profession. "I can do it, but you'd rather want this due to the fact that the other will look TERRIBLE in comparison."

I'm usually struggling with complex shapes and/or character design since I don't get such orders often (no wonder, I stink). Hopefully I'll get better at it with practice and determination.
