What do you think about betting?

Betting is the act of playing a money on some events to predict the outcome. If your prediction comes out right, then you have won some money. Do you get involved in betting or you frown against it?

Too easy to get addicted, in my experience. I already know from past experience that I have a personality that can be susceptible to it, so I avoid it on principle unless the stakes are so low it really doesn't matter.

Unless you count casino games betting, then I don't believe I have ever bet on anything before.

It's a waste of money unless your good at it. Of course, though, investing and starting a business is like gambling but without the stigma. Anyway, though, I'm not into betting or gambling one reason being I'm not good at it and not to mention I'm struggling financially now.

I went to the casinos and played on the machines - that was a lot of fun. xD I can see doing that. I don't see myself betting on horses or fights, or sports even because I'm not that knowledgable about any of it - but I can see why others might. Financially if you're in a good place - why not? Otherwise I would think it be wiser to perhaps limit yourself on how frequently you like to bet. I know many people in the US make bets on who will win the superbowl.

I don't get involved in any gambling.

I used to work at a gas station and have all kinds of stories about the lotto-junkies that would come in there. There was one guy who would spend his whole paycheck on lotto tickets. He couldn't charge them so he would keep getting money out of the ATM. Before long, he went from driving a nice car to a junker and his wife was divorcing him.

Don't mind the odd bet. Win more times than I lose. Guess I'm lucky there.

I'm fine with it if every time I play is that I win. But nope. I suck at gambling and betting. Almost afraid to play.

I don't do it myself, but I don't have a problem with others who do it.

Betting on sports is not a wise investment, but it can be a LOT of fun. What you're really paying for is the thrills you experience while watching the game. I do it for fun, each year if not none. End of the day I put in or spend $10 or more and if I loss, you do not lose that much.

I have placed some bets in the past on sports such as football and have had some wins but I never go over the top when betting and only do it when I know I can afford to do so.

If I win or lose I always move away and don't go back after an outcome as that is usually when it starts to go downhill.

The best form of advice is, don’t start. People that are neck deep in it are finding ways to get out, but it’s so difficult to do so.

I know people who have lost everything due to betting. They were not doing so great before betting anyway but whatever little they had, they lost that as well due to betting. Now they live a life that is even worse. Because of them, their entire family is suffering. Betting is one of the worst things to do in life.

I tend go stay away from betting. Have done some in the past, but it was usually a loss. So to keep loses to a minimum, I don’t bet.

I don't do this myself but if someone wishes to bet on things then it's their prerogative. I only went to the casino once, I didn't really win much but just $24. I just never really had the urge to go out and gamble.

Casinos are fascinating places if you're not there to actually gamble but to observe humanity at less than its best. Watching the tricks pulled in the casino to engineer human behaviour, it's really quite stunning how effective many of them are at doing it.

But you can't win in a casino - the house percentage is far too big for that, at least on the odds. You can make a minor profit by exploiting weaknesses in the dealers and their mistakes but it's not long term profitable; means you can stay on a roulette table all night just on a $50 opener if you want, though.

Not a huge gambler, but I'm happy to bet a couple of play dollars every now and then at the casino.

That's the limit to how much I'm willing to lose though 😁

I haven't placed any bets before but if I ever do, it will just be a one-time thing as I know I'm likely to lose the bet anyway.

If one does not have selfcontrol, betting can ruin someone's life faster than they can say jack. Personally I don't involve in it and I wouldn't advise anyone to.
But I believe that if one is not greedy and knows when to pull out, he might gain some profits.
