what causes sudden increase in number of contract Staff ?

As a contract worker, your charges or wage depends on how well you carry your brand. If your brand gives the impression of low fees, you will definitely get peanut offers. How well you execute or deliver a contract affects the charges and subsequent offers too.

You are not far from the truth, apart from contract staff being hard working and work efficiently, they are being increase suddenly because the company product demands has increase and they have to employ more hands to meet up with demands.

Advances in technology have increased the need for businesses to provide high-speed services quickly and efficiently. Fortunately for companies, contract workers thrive on producing high quality work and completing projects in the most efficient and effective way possible.

Most companies can attest to the impact of having a contract staff executive projects in a timely manner but the decrease in payment in form of wages or salary is what I don't understand as it has been the norm in my country.

Most businesses want to maximize profit. To achieve this, there is need to reduce cost while maintaining high standard and quality. Reducing overhead cost is one of the methods adopt to actualize this. This makes businesses to recruit workforce on contract term.
 
Contract staff is a two way thing.
It is either they are retained as full time worker thats if they work and satisfy the business. And also they might not be retained if the company seems their service is no longer needed.
 
In my country, most employers hire contract staffs as this comes with little benefit. A contract staffs appointment can be terminated without getting any extra benefits from the company
 
What causes the sudden increase in contract staff is the inability of most companies to pay their staff due to economic downturn as a result of covid-19 pandemic. For the company to make profits on their product, they looked for ways to cut down on expenditure which brings about contracts employment who are paid lesser than the regular staff of the company.
 
Is our recruiting contract staff because they are trying to save money and cut cost on expenses. Imagine having his staff who is on a contract but works as a full-time staff with no health insurance or incentive doing the whole work fine.
 
i would say the increase in the number of the demand in a specific project, some people sometimes underestimate their own projects but get surprised when they check the amount of the demand they are getting

@Milz I relate with your comment above. The reason why most contract staffs work in such organization is because the unemployment rate is high and if they aren't willing to take up the job there are countless number of applicant willing take the job with lesser pay.

In my country where I come from the employer tend to have two types of people that work for him, the contract staff and the permanent staff, the contract staff tend to put in more effort in other to gain employment fully and the employers pay them low while the permanent staff are not that much hardworking than the contract staff. So most employers like having 50-70% of contract staff than permanent staff.
 
You might need to let people go and ask remaining employees to pick up the slack by working longer hours or even weekends. But asking workers to choose between their work life and personal life will never sit well. Instead, it will contribute to a higher turnover, as employees grow frustrated.

The company engage in employing contract staff so that they would be able to pay less in salary compared to hiring them on full scale. the reason why company igaging in this is that there is high rate of unemployment in the country. So as a result of this, people are willing to accept anything which is being offered to them. An unemployed youth believe that our break is still better than none.
