There are a lot of ways we can understand how successful the Search Engine Optimisation is for our forum or websites. When it comes to measuring it, what are the key metrics that you make use of?
Simple: pay attention to the pages on your site that actually get traffic from search engines and make them better.
If you're ever at a loss for writing new content just check out your top 5 ranked pages and write more content around those topics, interlink them, and always add your call to action/offer somewhere on these pages.

The only metric that matters: does people landing on your site turn into something else? Do people arriving on there become customers (whether that's by signups, contact forms to discuss further or buying a product/service)?
If the answer is no, it's not working. If the answer is 'I don't know', you need to define what success looks like (if only for now) as a stepping stone to getting to that.
