Has anyone here used the Vanilla Forum Software. It does look like your typical forum does. It has been around since 09ish .
I personally do not like the layout but do know a few people who use and like it.

I thought they were bought off by another company but I guess I was wrong. Anyways I've never used Vanilla forum before and I don't think I've ever joined a forum that used this software either. For modern software I see more people using Discourse over any other modern forum software.

I haven't "used" it, but I have heard it's very basic. Think PHPbb without a lot of the features. I'm with
@Ravenfreak I have never joined a community with this software.
Ya, they always felt like phpBB with less stuff. Granted, they do offer that Discourse-like style that a lot of people seem to prefer.
