Upselling your own product line

Are there any good guides out there on creating a line of books/articles that are for sale?

My current vision is to have a line of products as opposed to a few, work tirelessly for a year or two and then coast for a while on the value of my written work. I have deep skills in a particular niche, so everything up to the product line I have covered. I'm just wondering if there are any common or popular examples of this or any advice that people might have.
