That's frustrating that you also don't need to come in one of those days. D: I hate when a schedule is not necessarily 100% how it's going to actually be.
Yeah, it sucks and I could really use the money at this time, so hopefully they'll give me more hours soon.

I’m doing good - how about you Rachael? :D
I'm doing okay! It was a busy day at work today and never was able to check my phone really! Today was a much better day than yesterday.

I sure hope so! :( My husband's schedule has been shifting but I think it's finally settled.

JELLO! :) lol. I'm ready too! Hope your week is doing good! I went out with my friends and had a drink so I feel great lol.

Hey everyone! Thank god it's my weekend, I plan on sleeping in tomorrow. :)
Glad it's your weekend too! Yay for sleep!

There’s an upcoming long weekend here (1st May, Labour Day) but my car has a recall order so I’m stuck at the workshop while they fix the issue. Such is the life of a car owner
What brand and recall is it for?

Morning everyone!

My current Mitsubishi Lancer, there was an issue with the turn light terminal, and could cause them to blow out, apparently.

They fixed it and reflashed the ECU. Pretty sure it's a placebo, but the car feels faster haha
Flashing the ECU could impact the economics of the car, but horsepower, not so much. :p

Factory ecu that is. Not talking about chip/ecu tuning.

Almost weekend for me guys! :)

Morning everyone! Have a great weekend! :)

Adding/configuring some prefixes on the site (seems ZWO came out with some new telescopes and I need to add them into the prefix selections).. watching some People vs. Food Youtube videos (warning, it's a rabbit-hole).
Also doing some tweaking on the VPS and still contemplating installing ElaticSearch and the XF add-on (don't really need it as smalls as I am, but the 3 letter searches could help).

You're on a VPS, you should be able to tweak the MySQL config - https://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/8.0/en/fulltext-fine-tuning.html - it notes on there how to change it. Elastic is big and heavy when this might be enough for you.
Even tweaking mySQL config it's not as good as ElasticSearch (and I've done it)... I simply can't honestly justify the additional cost of that add-on for search. I do have a 3rd party add-on that can use Google that gives decent results.

ElasticSearch is kind of a "rip off" in XF as one other script includes it now (finally after kicking Sphinx to the curb and not having a replacement for it for a long time). Personally... I think it should be a "base" ability that one can use if their environment supports it. I mean honestly, it's only about $10USD a month to double the memory on my VPS, and 8GB should be MORE than adequate for search for quite a while.
With XF it's more a "gimme gimme money" thing. IPS includes the ability in their base script from my understanding. Granted IPS did use Sphinx and kicked it to the curb for several years before enabling ES search.

No, it's not, but I figured it was a good starting point if that was your only headache.

The thing about ES support... from XF's point of view it's not really so much about cost, but putting it in to deal with the inevitable support headaches. Getting ES set up is not necessarily straightforward depending on what you're trying to do, even if you have the hardware open to you which I'd suspect more of XF's customers don't as a proportion of the customer base than IPS. Gatekeeping it behind the paywall makes life easier in general.

And as someone who was a contributor to Sphinx back in the day, I'm always sad it never won the search war even though properly configured it's *still* faster than ES, runs lighter and searches better in my experience. Far as I know though Andrew is still running the place, with a new release earlier this year.
