Paid forum software versus free forum software?

Once again, please post a link to a direct quote from IPS that clearly stated they are ending self hosting after 2 years.
Once again... one has to simply read their statements.... 2 year roadmap, only promise that self-hosted will be supported through version 5.
Now, please give us a link to a quote that they guarantee a 10 year period (or even 5) for any version of the script.
You and I both know that IPS isn't going to put anything into stone that they can get their back-sides roasted over after the history of similar mistakes they've done.
And if you really think they will stick with version 5 for 5 years or even 10... you gotta be confusing them with XenForo.
As I said (and you keep trying to avoid) they have clearly stated that self-hosted is on it's EOL stage and once it reaches a certain point, it will not be supported. Whether that's done in 2 years or 5 years... it's going to be done.

I have used..ProBoards..zetaboards…then phpBB..Mybb and SMF..i am now with Jcink. It is idiot proof. It is so easy to use. I’ve looked at xenforo but I found the ACP confusing..
