What do you do when the activity on your forum suddenly drops?

How do YOU get it to start rising again? What steps do you take to restart activity on your community?

How often do you deal with these activity drops?

There is almost little that you can do. However, if it is to do a case of posting dropping, you can consider running a posting contest as one of the ways that you can get members resuming activities on the forum for a couple of weeks or months as the case may be.

I just continue to post and make new content, in hopes of bringing activity back. As long as you continue to add content, you forum doesn't truly die.

Did the drop in activity coincide with a technical change in registration emails not being sent out? With increased server errors? With permission issues?

Did the drop coincide with a previous increase in activity, and now it's resuming back to normal levels? Maybe there was a big real world event (such as the final championship of a league). Maybe there was a conference.

There are a lot of unknowns here, which deserve investigating before jumping to any hasty conclusions.

I am running two forums and none of the forums have organic activities. I mean people do not voluntarily come to my forums to post. Therefore, if I do not buy posting packages on promotional forums, if I do not engage in post exchange with other forum owners, and if I do not hire paid posters, I will have no activities.
