Modeling: A business or not?????

I think we can all agree that modelling is a profession then now business includes transactions, give and take so as long as modellers give or render service and get rewarded in cash it can be categorized as a business.

As writer Michael Lewis put it, "to glorify all sorts of half-baked ideas," "business model" was one of the great buzzwords of the Internet boom. A business didn't need a plan, specialised knowledge, or even customers; all it needed was a Web-based business model that promised huge profits in the far future.

Modeling is more of a job, it's a profession and it's a long term profession where you will be paid handsomely for your work and everything you do

Modelling is a business to me ,because there are people here in my country that signs model and pay them salary in order to use them for advertisement.

Modelling could be categorized as a business because there a lot of people who do the business as a profession to make more money

Modeling is a career path that so many individuals are into and the make livelihoods out of it. There are organisations for modeling also.

Thus is quite a tricky one though. I think if you are into modeling, you are actually doing a job and not business like other things because there is huge similarities between jobs and businesses and we have to understand them.

It can be classified as a business. Once it starts fetching you a loflt of profit in the future. Then i consider modeling as part of a business many do that as source of living

Modelling a business of a business to sell more and help you to gain more customer for the business, this is why most business owner makes use of celebrities in terms of modelling their business to gain more patronage.

Concerning if modeling is a business or not . Well, I see modeling as more of a job, you get to become a model professional as they have levels to it. Modeling can be a self- employed as it also deals with self development physically and mentally

Anything that you do that fetch you money and pays your bills can be regarded as business, the way you manage it or the experience and the level of your training in it will determine how last it will be. It can be categorized as self-employed so far it takes care of your finances.

I think it can be both ways to be honest. If you model for a particular brand, then that is a job but if you free lance than that I am very sure is business but kind of tricky though.

Modelling is not and cannot be catigorized as a business but rather a job that is in a contract basis because it is tenure based. Models are changed frequently

Can modelling be categorised as a business???
Can models be categorised as self employed???
Is modeling a long lasting profession???
What are our views ???
Modelling like you said has been branded a business by some modelling and fashion company where they sign models and pay them monthly, but modelling is not a long lasting profession because it has age limit.

Definitely I see it as a job actually because they are lots of things you have to do in other to even or ever become a model .You definitely need to be outstanding before you get to be chosen as a model.

It's still a business in the general term because that's how you make money and foot your bills but Its more of job because models are usually signed to agencies who manage them

I think modelling can be classified as a business because it can generate profit to the person who is doing it, anything that can generate you money is either a work or a business, let me listen to what other people will have to say about it

I think if you are working under a modeling Industry it's regarded as a career. But if you are one that owns a modeling agency then it's a business for you.

Well I would say the answer varies, based on the individual answering it. Some would tell you it's a business, since they make money from it. Others would say it's a job since they are working under a brand or agency and they get paid. Others might classify as a contract work where by the agency use you for a specific period of time
