If using the Joomla portal software this is generally the best forum component. It has pretty cool features. Definately doesn't top software such as phpBB, MyBB etc but it's still awesome.

Joomla was one of my very first exposures to self-hosting a script... and it was OK... but it didn't fit my needs which lead me into forums.

I was more of a PhpNuke guy back then until I left PhpBB which was the forum attached to Nuke.
