Is there any difference between marketing and selling?

Yes there is a difference between marketing and selling, while marketing involves introducing the product to the consumers and giving them in details what the product is all about selling now performing a transaction based on the product already introduced to the consumer.

Profits are directly related to sales. Increased sales at competitive rates ensure increased earning. Sale is a process, by which goods and services flow from the producer to the consumers. It is an activity of distributing goods. Marketing on the other hand is a comprehensive term which includes selling in itself, merchandising and distribution. The ultimate end of both selling and marketing is to maximise profit by promoting sales.

People say marketing and selling are one and the same, I would love to get different opinions and some clearance on this topic please.
Both sales and marketing are quite different. Do they work towards the same goal of making customers to buy from you but there is quite a difference between the two. Sales involves one-on-one persuasion or direct marketing with the customers, while marketing on the other hand involves a system put in place in order to generate a lot of sales without having a contact with the customers. Advertisement is one of the marketing system put in place to generate sales

When it comes to marketing, you are telling your potential customers what that product or service can do and how it can be beneficial to them while in selling, the customer wants to try out the product and see if it does all that you have said while marketing it to them, so marketing your product is what brings sales.

Marketing is quite different from selling. Marketing, you go out to source for potential customers. In marketing, you don't just go to any place and do marketing, there must be a particular target and place as well. Selling has to do with buying and selling to people at anywhere at any given point of time.

Yes they have many different, The marketing process is about increasing awareness and interest in what you do. The selling process is about converting interest into buyers and repeat buyers

Marketing and selling are almost the same thing if you look at it closely. You market your business products and services in order to sell it to your customers. So, it's more like marketing comes before the actual selling of the products and services. You can't sell to market, but you can market to sell.

The term, sales, refers to all activities that lead to the selling of goods and services. ... And marketing is the process of getting people interested in the goods and services being sold. Sales is a term used to describe the activities that lead to the selling of goods or services. Therefore, the relationship is that marketing affects sales and sales determines the effectiveness of the marketing strategies.

There is a clear difference between marketing and selling. Although both work together, but selling won't take place if marketing is not properly done and effectivly.
And another thing is that a marker is different from a sales representative.

Exactly, as long as any kind of business is considered, there must be a marketing team because they are the ones that push the existence of the company's business products and services to the awareness of the public, who now come back to buy.

I think those two are different. Marketing is the process by which you first introduce the product to be sold through various platforms, regardless of whether it is offline or online. Selling, on the other hand, is the process by which a transaction is exchanged between the consumer and the seller.

Broadly, marketing involves promoting, distributing, packaging, pricing and selling of products/services while selling is a part of marketing that involves the actual exchange between a buyer and seller.

Yes there is a huge difference between selling and marketing. In a selling process, the buyer already know what about the commodity he or she is coming to buy from you but in Marketing, the buyer has no idea of what the commodity is and you will be the one to tell him or her.

Marketing may not necessarily mean selling,I see selling as agreement to market a product after a clause is met.marketing rather focus on channels which you can make the products known.

Marketing is totally different from selling, marketing has more to do with advertising and trying to convince people to buy your products, sales on the other hand is a function of positive response from your audience whom you have marketed a particular product or service to.

Marketing or advertising is all about selling your business concept or idea in a packaged manner to customers. So technically there is little or no difference. Because it's all about purpose and the purpose of the two words is to bring sell and make profits at the end of the day.

Marketing is a marketing strategy; it is a way to reinforce interest in products by generating knowledge about the advantages that they offer to the consumers. Marketing sells products. Purchasing and selling is the process of buying and selling of goods and services that is the difference. Marketing is a method of selling goods and services.

According to my own point of view I will say yes there's a big difference between marketing and selling marketing is the process of selling the brand and the products extending the name making it popular and known all over but selling, is just monetary exchange of the product

Selling and marketing are two different things. Selling is when you collect money from someone and the person in turn collects your product. Marketing is when you create awareness for your product. Letting people know about the existence of the product and what the product is all about.
