I personally have the opinion that marketing and selling are two different entities. Marketing is a tool that facilitate selling. Marketing is not selling but a means to which you can get your product sold. Marketing is making your product known to prospective buyers and after this they tend to buy your product if they see the benefit or the edge in your product

People say marketing and selling are one and the same, I would love to get different opinions and some clearance on this topic please.
I would say that marketing is the professional way of selling, buying and selling takes place almost everyday, anytime but marketing puts into consideration how to build a customer management base, provide what customer really needs and meet their needs.

Marketing and selling are not words with the same meaning as some people do believe. Let me say selling is an integral part of marketing which involves the exchange of a good or something for money while marketing is promoting or buying and selling of goods.

There really may not be any difference in meaning of the two words but as an accounting student, there are some differences in the usage of the two words. Selling relates to auctioning of a particular good and services while marketing relates to the unit or department in charge of selling a product.

Yes there's lots of different between marketing and sells because marketing is used for advertisment of goods for people to know or aware of the kinds of goods you selling and patronize you but sell is when you sold out the goods to your customers that want to buy the products or goods you have and they interested to buy

Profits are directly channeled to sales. Increased sales at competitive rates ensure increased earning. Sale is a process, by which goods and services flow from the producer to the consumers. It is an activity of distributing goods. Marketing on the other hand is a comprehensive term which includes selling in itself, merchandising and distribution.

Getting people excited and qualified to buy the product is much more of a sales job, than marketing. A marketer can only get a prospect to a certain level of interest. To drive an immediate action, there is a necessity of a sales person work.

Marketing and selling is like night and day. One comes before the other. Night comes before a day. Without adequate marketing of goods there will be poor or no sales. Marketing is the process of creating awareness of your business through advertisement while selling is the actual offering of good and services to customers.
