Is it worth buying more than one domain?

I don't think so to be honest. Unless that niche is very popular, we shouldn't try to purchase more than one domain and one domain extension for a single website. I have two domain extensions at the moment and I have been thinking of all the renewal costs lately.

Considering everything, I don't think it's a good idea to purchase more than one domain and it's just not worth it.

After you get more than one domain, you wouldn't want to let go of it and you would be paying a lot in the end. So, I would never recommend it.
What if the domain is cheap? I know other places do this. Like bigger stores will buy them up and just redirect them like mentioned. I feel like in the short term, it makes no sense to do it but in the long term, it is worth it. Say if my business were to blow up for example. It keeps people from going to the wrong domain as well.

I'm afraid this may decrease your trust factor when you want to actually advertise the website later on, google doesn't encourage redundant domains linking to one service

Unless you are a big enterprise and you fair about your trade name being misused, there is absolutely not necessary to buy the same domain name with another extension. In fact, it is not even possible to buy domain with every popular extension.

To me I don't see any point in doing this . It is better to stick to a particular domain name to avoid spending much in renewing the domain ,and also in confusing users when trying to access your website. Most people see redirects as a scamming strategy .

Depends on your brand really. If you have the .com settled, you don't always need to buy the other domains. You could do that, but it'll cost you for each domain you get. You can of course redirect these domains to your actual site, and that's what people tend to do when they try to buy up the domains that are close to your main one.

It's just done so that if someone does go to a site, it'll redirect to your site. It's a win win. Some people buy creative domains just so they can make a profit on them, or make a business on them.

I don't think that's really necessary so far you are the one that has the .com domain extension then you are good to go. If your competitors try to use other extension against you it won't work because search engine recognize .com domain extension than other extension

It worth buying as much domain as possible, the more you buy, the more money you will get from the domain. I have some domains to sell and I'm aiming of have much money from all. I will always advice people to buy more domain names for yourself to get some other income. The more domain you have, the more cash you will be expecting.

It will make a nice sense if one do so, you know purchasing numerous domains for your business, could propel or instigate it's online identify and guide your brand from savaged competitors too.

The most grounded reason to get various site areas with a similar name and diverse augmentation is to secure your image personality and deny rivalry or trick site who might mishandle them.

Web indexes have gotten more intelligent and now they read through your site substance to build up your site character and specialty crowd, so SEO astute, having various areas for your site isn't basic.

as an un-popular person? i would believe it would be a waste of money, because i don't think you are that popular that people would imitate your brand's name, unless you come up with some very unique naming scheme, then in that case, buying more than a domain would worth it

You can buy as many domains as you want as long as you can afford it. These days an unregistered domain can sell for $10 on godaddy and namecheap. I purchase domains so as to resell it for higher price.

I think this is still a wise decision but there are still other domain ending like .gg , .tv and others , which copy cat can still use

For business organization, buying the same domain with various extension can help. This will prevent trade mark theft. For individuals, that's absolutely not necessary. Having said that I have bought different extension for same domain.

I agree that buying the same domain name from more than 1 domain name provider can be good for a redirect. But to prevent a copycat when your domain is in dot com and someone registers the same domain name in dot org then you have to buy the available domain name in all providers... from dot net, dot tv, and all other existing dots. Just think that a unique name can always be copied on another provider so it should not bother you at all. That is part of life in the business world.

I have three different extensions for the same domain. I registered just to protect the brand. I am using com, info and country domain. I use domain redirection ans point two domain to the main website. However, this is costing me additional $27 per year.

It depends on the number of website that you have, if you have just one website, I don't think it's reasonable to have more than one domain name, if you do please how do you link it up with other ones, do you think is possible? One domain name one website, that's what it is.

Yes just like u have stated. You need more than b one domain, so that the moment your website is getting traffic some business like minded like you won't navigate ur website with another domain to draw some of the traffic meant for your website to the copied site but different domain.

Be sure to get DMCA protection if you can to avoid running into a issue with framers. You can get a free Dmca badge from the DMCA website that you can add to your own site. Domains are very cheap to purchase and if you see a reason to purchase even more than one then I’ll advise you do it.

Multiple domains to prevent copycat is good idea, however there are so many names that it is not wise to go after everyone.Domains are very cheap to purchase and if you see a reason why to purchase more than one then why not, please do it's worth it.

Buying several domains will boost your business' online identity and deter fierce rivals from your brand. It also makes it possible in maintaining domain names out of competitors' own hands to invest in several variations of your principal domain. This is only one reason.
