How often should the information on the pages be updated?

Actually I don't see anything wrong in updating your website once in every year. If you don't feel comfortable with that you can be doing it once in every single month or once in three months.
i am not saying it is wrong what i am saying is that when it comes to website management, you have to be flexible and flow with the trend so as not to make your website to be obsolete, if it requires you updating, do not wait till a year time yo do it.

Okay, I got your point and that is very good. It is always very important to update your website from time to time so that it will flow with the trends. That will people be comfortable visiting.

In terms of general pages or blog posts, how often should the information be updated or changed to stay relevant?

I used to think it was fine to do this once a year but it seems as though it needs to be done more often these days.
Blog and news websites, in particular, should indeed be kept up to date on a regular basis in order to keep readers interested and attract and retain visitors. Other sorts of sites, including e-commerce storefronts or company websites, may just require you to upload new content on a regular basis. However, keeping your material original and updated is always a smart idea to guarantee that your site remains relevant and entertaining.

The frequency of updating information on a website depends on several factors, such as the type of information, the purpose of the website, and the target audience. Here are some general guidelines
Content that changes frequently, such as news articles, stock prices, or weather forecasts, should be updated as often as necessary to maintain its accuracy and relevance.
Pages that provide information about products or services, such as pricing or features, should be updated when changes occur.
Pages with information about events, such as a concert schedule or conference agenda, should be updated in a timely manner leading up to the event and promptly after the event has taken place.
Static information, such as a company's history or contact information, can be updated less frequently, as long as it remains accurate.
In general, it's a good practice to regularly review all the information on a website and make updates as needed to ensure that it remains accurate and relevant to your audience.

Updating information in any website should depend on how people are in touch with the old information, it shouldn't be updating when most people are not aware of the old information.
