When it comes to working as a forum staff on either being a moderator or an administrator, you can either work volunteer who wouldn't be paid for his job or as a paid moderator or an administrator. If you decide that you're going to work as a paid staff, how much would be the idea fee charge you would be selling your service to the forum owner?

If I were to be made a moderator, then i would try as much as possible to charge a reasonable fee for my services. However, I may also consider the budget of the owner and try my best in order to charge the best rates. It may also depend on how much time I spend moderating a forum.

For me to mod, I think I'd need to be paid weekly, or bi-weekly. I don't know how much mods should be paid. Most forums I've been too it's mostly people volunteering to moderate. As you can make many people mods. So I don't know if there is much money in there for mods. Even admins running a site. I don't know if they make a lot.

Personally for me, the amount I'm going to charge is dependent on how active and the level of activities that's going on in the forum. If it's big, I would be looking at charing $50 per month. But if it's small forum, it's going to be $5 weekly.

Trust me forums don't earn a lot of money. There are only a few forums that might be earning decently, the rest of the forums are struggling financially. Therefore you will not be in a position to negotiate your fees, you will end up accepting what is being offered. By the way, I have received up to $45 per week to be a moderator on a forum.

Wow! $45 per week to be a moderator on a forum is a very big pay. The forum owner will be making a big amount of money from his or her forum in order to pay such amount of money on weekly basis, otherwise it's going to mean that he's got money to throw around.

sadly, he was paying from his pocket. After 6-7 weeks, he said he can no longer pay $45, and I suggested to him that whatever he can afford, I will accept. Then he started paying $30 per week for a few more weeks and then one day he announced he can no longer pay. He was new to forums and did not realize how much expenses he would incur while running a forum.

You're one lucky chap 😂. You hit a gold mine with him even though it was for a short term, you were able to milk him enough before he was bumped into reality. As long as it's an agreement you both had, I wouldn't feel any bad because I didn't do any bad.

I love being paid on weekly terms whenever I'm working as a staff in any forum. The least I charger for either an administrator or a moderator is $10-15 per week. If your forum is small and not having much work to do on it, I will charge $10 per week. I won't take anything less than $10 per week from any forum owner I'm work for as a staff.

There should be an amount of money you're to have as you're payment cap limit when working online as a staff or you just take anything the forum owner offers because of what they say about their forum size? I had a work partner of mine accept $5 for a month's administrator job in a forum where I was paid $5 weekly. I couldn't stop laughing when he told me about it.

To be able to know what amount to request as a moderator or admin of a platform, you need to be able to give at least a good account of what the platform makes at least in a day that will be good to give good knowledge of what you charge considering you have to be fully committed get time is not even supposed to be an issue or excuse.

Charging a set amount to work on a forum as a moderator is going to be difficult indeed as most owners of forums tend to pay their staff if they are looking to do that based on their contribution and how much the forum makes as well from ad revenue and any other forms of revenue they use as well.

I personally either negotiate the price per month with the forum owner or I agree to be paid based on activity and contribution.

Unfortunately, I have never seen any forum owner who's willing to provide you with this information and even if they did, there's a very high chance it's never going to be the truth. If it's a new forum, you can know it's not making much yet but if it's an older forum, you will never know.

Actually you are very correct about that kind of information b it new or old an admin will never give you that kind of information but as you know if you want something you have to be willing to do research for example when I first got into this platform, I was able to make setting research and at that point then I discovered that each message was charged at 50biz but as time went on it was changed to 20biz I sat down and did the calculation. My point in essence is for someone to want to be a moderator or any other thing, they are still kind of pieces of information the person would have to research themselves even if the information is not completely accurate but at least there is a rough idea.

That is very true because most platform or businesses that offer people any sort of job or position already know you are aware of the rate the charge regular members so they are already waiting for you to bring up that topic before you even bring it up.
