How do you stop members starting duplicate accounts?

Out of curiosity, how do those add-ons work?
Not entirely sure. I think they check against hosts, IP and a few other things. I'm not 100% sure though.
`yup. Also many webmasters write custom add-ons to query various third-party APIs. Third party tracking is the devil of the internet these days
