How can an employee handle an abusive employer

An abusive employer is the worst thing that can happen to anyone. I had such employer in my first job after service very terrible experience I maintained my guard until I left there I was patient and never left like other employees until I gathered the kind of experience I needed and resigned in peace. I never wished to have such employer again

Just keep on doing your job. A day will come your boss will appreciate you a day will come your boss will miss you when you get better offer

Abusive employers can be handled by good behavior as well as wisdom.Such employers demand good behavior and good for them to be tackled and handled. In a case where your boss is an abusive someone, all you need to do is to study him carefully and make sure you know how to handle him.

It is very difficult for an employee to handle an abusive employer, but all you need to do is to do the right thing at the right time and also try to be friendly to your employer. Never show that you are angry anytime you are been insulted by your employer, always work with a free mind and allow your employer's concience to fight for you.

They say respect is reciprocal, violence is never accepted in any form maybe physical or spiritual.a good employer respect it's employees so as to reciprocate it from the employees.employees should abide by the rules and regulations of the company so as to avoid grievances from the employer.

If the employer is abusive in any way, shape or form, it's a very tricky situation. In developed countries, it's very easy, you just go to HR and something's likely to be done. Even if it's the owner who's carrying on like a fool, HR would step in. This side of the world unfortunately, I'm confused as to what the role of HR is. The department is absolutely useless and seems to think its only role is recruitment and payroll:rolleyes::oops: So if I ever found myself in that position, I'd quit. Hang on - I actually did almost two years ago.

If the employer is very abusive in any way,its very difficult for employees to handle an employer that is abusive, any time you are be insulted with your employer you don't need to be angry.

An abusive employer is a very tough battle to handle, personally I can't work with that.
Every human should respect the other, irrespective of the position or wealth.
Respect is the basic thing we owe to each other as humans.

Everyonce mood is change so,it's hard and difficult to handle each person mood.specially for employers and employee it's really hard to bear an abusive person .
Patience is necessary .Second make him understand politely and try to understand him as well so by this we can handle abusive person either he is employee or employer.

  1. Listen. Often, when an employee is difficult we stop paying attention to what's actually going on. ...
  2. Give clear, behavioral feedback. ...
  3. Document. ...
  4. Be consistent. ...
  5. Set consequences if things don't change. ...
  6. Work through the company's processes. ...
  7. Don't poison the well. ...
  8. Manage your self-talk.

From experience as HR professional, this abusive of a thing is unprofessional and uncalled for. This scenario would only be found in a man business where sometimes salary obligations are not forth coming as expected and so many other issues. If you find yourself in that situation, you need to ask yourself some questions namely:

1. Will I be able to cope in such unhealthy atmosphere.

2. Do I stand to gain career development in that organisation irrespective of the abusive.

3. How soon are you planning your exit.

4. Has the issue been discussed with hiring manager and then presented to board of director.

If the employer has treated the employee a physical or sexual harassment, then it's better to ask help for a selected authorities. If it's mostly by throwing insults humiliating you or belittling, it's best to ignore but if it's got worse, defend yourself and prove that they are wrong.

I think for this you must have patience because in patience we will handle everything either he is abusive or bad manner boy. There are more several ways to handle his mood and recover everything faster but sometimes we failed.
So having patience ks necessary than soon every situation will be okay.
I think that patience may cause the employer to become complacent in their behavior and in a way they may start to accept that you have accepted the bullying behavior and as such it may continue on. Perhaps the best thing may be not to react to the bulling, but at the same time set your limits to ensure that they don't take advantage of you?

Working under an abusive employer can be frustrating but you are to be in control not the intimidation from your boss. First of all you must shift your attention from your boss but to your job. Be indifferent to his abuse and most importantly pray for your boss. If there is opportunity elsewhere you are good to move but does that guarante that the next boos will not be abusive.

The labour laws clearly protects an employee and also gives rights to employers as well, i believe every decent clime has some form of labour regulations that governs the relationship between employer and employee. Where an employee is abused by an employer the best remedy is to seek redress from the courts.

The employee has no other choice but to ignore that. He needs to be patient till he finds a better job opportunity or start his own business or company..he can't decide that he wants to retaliate because that will be very wrong and two wrongs doesn't make a right.

Yes, I forgot to mention this as well. In my country we also have the Labour Ministry where you can take these types of grievances. You can at least expect them to be impartial, even though we've had a few corruption cases where the foreign employers have bribed the officials to rule in their favour:rolleyes::rolleyes: The good thing is that if ever found out, the implications are harsh or both the employer and Labour official.

Well! To be under an abusive employer is not as easy as it seems, because the employee will always get frustrated and unhappy because of the employer, such employee have to endure till he or she finds a better offer and then leave the employer.

An employee can handle an abusive employer by reporting them to a higher authority. But if there is no higher authority in the organization, then he or she can report to the last enforcement agencies.

once you know a particular customer is abusive in nature then you have to avoid such customer in anyway you can and if such customer persist with such nature, then you need to call her to notice
