How are sales in January?

A couple of business owners always complain of low sales during the January period. The reason, according to them, is that people end up spending more during the Christmas season and have less for January. Is that true?

It is somewhat true. People are often away for the holidays, that includes the New Year as people love to celebrate that too. Some people take week long vacations, or multiple weeks. So the new year is always going to be a somewhat low time.

 

[Kane]

That's very true. I can say this as a consumer as well as as a business. As a business I have always seen drop in sales after the holiday season and as a consumer, I buy less in January because my funds are depleted during holiday shopping.
